Easy flight and a good driver from JFK to our hotel. Met a friend here for the event at John’s Pizzeria for dinner. We had a calzone and a small pizza with pepperoni and sausage. The calzone was average, but the pizza was one of the best I’ve ever had.

We talked to a pedicab guy on the way back to the hotel and he’s picking us up at 1000 for a 1 ½ hour tour before dropping us off at the Nokia theater where the RCI event is being held.  It should be a lot more fun and interesting than riding a sightseeing bus around. .

OK: here's some tidbits.
1. Eastern and Western itineraries. St Thomas, St Maartin and Nassau.
Labadee, Falmouth, Jamacia and Cozumel. No tendering, all ports will have docks.

2. 3 September 2008 booking starts.

3. 12 Dec 2009 inaugural voyage.

4. 4 more neighborhoods to reveal later.

Pics are at http://community.webshots.com/album/563842071fatiXj

The hotel is where we are staying.

Go to http://www.oasisoftheseas.com to see the same video we saw.

Wow! That is VERY impressive! Not sure about being aboard a ship with 6,300 guests, but I still think sailing on this ship would be quite an experience.:thumbsup:

BTW, is that you in one of the hotel shots?

Thanks for the links!

Yep, that's me. Forgot to delete it.

Was it worth the trip for 2 hours of hype? Was for us as we never thought we'd like NYC. Changed our minds and will now go back just to see the city.

Always nice to see our members! I'm usually the one behind the camera so there aren't a lot of shots of me in my albums, but I make it in there once in a while. ;)

6300 is full occupancy. 5400 double occupancy. There's 2700 cabins.

My son has been wanting to go on "Genesis" before they even started building.  lol  I let the kids want the video and they are ready to go as soon as we can book.  lol  Of course it will not be that easy.

Does anyone know how far out they will be taking reservations when they start booking in September?

Selena, they just released some news on this. See the press release I posted. Ship Opens For Sale September 3, 2008: Maiden Voyage Set for December 12, 2009.

Nothing was said about how for out you can book. I would guess through most, if not all of 2010.
