| I have heard of this happening. They "upgrade" you ..but many people in aft, or hump cabins would rather not be moved.

| This has happened to us, but not on RCCL. Three weeks before our cruise I found out we'd been bumped from an aft facing cabin to a higher category suite just around the corner. I tend to think this happens frequently, at least on the mainstream lines.

This does happen frequently. If you picked out a specific cabin and don't want to be "upgraded", just tell your TA and they will enter it into your records. I usually pick a specific cabin location and would rather not be "upgraded".

| I request not to be upgrades when I have picked the cabin we want. I ask the rep to put this in our files. So far we have not had an issue but you never know if they truly check the notes they have on file.

I do that, as well. We always pick out the cabin location we want and prefer not to be "upgraded" to a less desireable location.

Exactly. Sometimes those upgrades are not in a location you care to deal with.

| I haven't; but, one time I had the aft corner balcony on the Rhapsody, and made sure that RCCL had it in their notes not to move me. This year on the Brilliance, we have a balcony cabin on the Hump (splurged for 10th wedding anniversary). Since the only "upgrade" from here they can give us would be a suite, I am OK with that. We will be spending a lot of port time on this cruise anyway. Unless I have really picked out and planned a cabin, it doesn't matter as long as they don't move us to an obstructed view.

Okay, I'll bite -- what's a "hump cabin"?

On some of the RCCL ships, right in the middle of the ship, is a "bumped" or "humped" out area. One one side are the outside glass elevators, and on the other side are great cabins! They are further out than the other cabins and the view off the balcony is great!
See below....the hump cabins are adjacent to and across from the mid-ship elevators.

Yes, the Balconies are larger! I don't give out cabin numbers ahead of time; but we are on the opposite side of the elevators on the front side of the 'hump'. Like I said, we splurged on this one (might have to skip a cruise next year!); but we wanted a place to watch us come in a leave ports as well as have a few drinks with our friends sailing with us.

We had 7604 and it was great!! I think you'll be very happy with your hump cabin!
