Thank you for the inquiry. The fleetwide bedding program update is the same type as that of Freedom of the Seas and will include:
- New bed frames designed to prevent sagging;
- Nine-inch-thick spring mattresses with separate two-inch-thick micro-fiber pillow tops;
- 220-thread-count long-staple cotton-blend sheets;
- Two micro-fiber pillows, plus one decorative pillow;
- Duvet with cotton-blend covers;
- Bed skirts; and Colored bed scarves placed at the end of the beds to protect the duvet.
The tentative roll-out schedule is as follows.

I am thinking about a transatlantic on either the Voyager or the Navigator and I am being told by Customer Service that the Voyager doesn't have the new beds.  I swear these people drive us all nuts for no reason!!!!

Another customer service person, said all the ships have the new beds.  What a mess!  I really don't understand why these people make statements that they don't know the answer to?  Just say I don't know, but I will find out and let you know.  Good grief, how hard is it to be honest?:flamin:

Exactly.  You can call most companies five times about anything (even asking what day of the week it is) and get five different answers.

We were fortunate enough to experience Royal's new bedding during our recent Splendour of the Seas cruise. It certainly was the most comfortable bed we've ever slept in compared to any previous cruise. The days of requesting egg crate mattress pads are history.

Either that or request one from your steward as soon as you board.

I read where RCI will be finished by May with the entire fleet. That was quick to do all twenty ships in 12 months. I know that my bed on the Jewel was the worst that I have ever had. Even the egg topper did not help.

Since the Brilliance should have the new beds by the time you sail Gordon, I expect you to include that in your review! ;) Maybe we can even get you to post from the ship?

I'll let you know in about 3 months how the new beds are. I couldn't be happier about this change, my poor decrepit back might get some relief. God, the old beds/mattresses were baaaadddddd! :)

Which ship coming up for you Bob? I would love to hear a comparison of the new vs. the old.

Hi Deb, Explorer OTS out of Cape Liberty, May 11. Booked it in about a nanosecond after Bea thought another cruise would be a good idea. So much for my previous plan of relaxing in the Dominican Republic, playing golf everyday:big grin: This sailing is a 9 nighter, Bermuda and E. Carib., no flying involved. We are about an 8-9 hour drive from the port, not too bad. I'll be sure to let you know what I think of the new bedding.

Deb, right now I am about 90% sure that I am going to cancel that cruise on the Brilliance. Not sure what I am going to replace it with. Still having a hard time getting my cruise mood back. May try the Freedom as I LOVE the Voyager class. The Jewel was nice but I found myself missing some of the features on the Voyager class. I will let you know what I come up with.

The beds on the Jewel were the absolute worst of any ship that I have cruised. Even the egg crate did not help. I'm glad that by May all ships will be complete.

Come on the 8-day Liberty with us!!! :yay: Yeah, yeah, I know, you really love your RCI, but it should be a good cruise with lots of us on board that you've been dying to meet, right? Besides, I owe you! :roflmao:And don't forget your overalls!  :big grin:

Geez, I'm not sure about the sofa sleepers. Does anyone else know?

Some posters on my roll call at CC, says they are replacing bedding on the Brilliance now, so maybe it'll be finished when I sail in 2 weeks????!!!!!!

I don't believe that they're replacing the sleeper mattresses.  I'm probably the wrong one to ask how comfortable they are.  I haven't annoyed DW enough to find out, plus I could sleep on a barbed wire fence.  :sleepy:
