Anyone been on the Sapphire Princess?  We decided to use up our cancelled cruise credits before they expired and booked a Mexican Rivera cruise in December.

My total time on Princess is 1 day and 2 nights on the Sea Princess. :(

I've been on the Sapphire twice and the sister ship the Diamond.  Although I've

never been on the Sea Princess, I do know it's very simiilar to the Dawn, and I

have been in port with the Dawn Princess a lot, and the Sapphire makes the

Dawn look like a tug boat.

If you have any  specific questions i'll be happy to answer them.

I've done that Mexican Riviera cruise 5 times on Princess in the last 5 years

and really enjoy it a lot.

We sailed the Mexican Riviera on the Sapphire Princess a few years ago and really enjoyed. It was one of our favorite cruises so far.

Our cruise stops at PV, Mazatlan and Cabo.  Any sights/excursions that you would highly recommend?

While in PV we've done the Las Caletas excursion twice and loved it.

http://www.vallarta-adventures.com is the site where you can read all about

it!  Whether you book directly with them or go through Princess, you're

still with the same company.  We always book this one with Princess since

it guarantees us a spot ---

We've done the Tequila tour and lunch/town tour also, and it was okay,

but a lot of hype.  We did buy a couple bottles of a very nice tequila, however,

and are still enjoying its flavor:drunkfriends::shottime:

If you are adventurous, I recommend one these: http://www.puertovallartatours.net/canopy-tours.htm . We've done Los Veranos and El Eden and both were great. Los Veranos is the most popular over on CC.

I am not normally into horseback riding, but Randi's Happy Horses is hugely popular and we had a blast last November. It is a gorgeous ride on Stone Island and then you are own to have lunch and Pacificos at Victors for very little $. The shrimp is outstanding. While I have not yet used him, eventually I will book through Mazatlan Frank. He and his crew are suppose to be the best tour guide in Mazatlan and there are several excursions available. http://www.mazatlan-frank.com/

In Cabo, we usually just go into town and shop and then eat lunch and drink. :drink: Of course, there is Cabo Wabo, as well as several other places. In November, we did a glass bottom boat ride out around Los Arcos that was pretty cool.

If Vallarta Adventures knows you are on a cruise ship, they will not allow you to book directly with them. Their contract with the cruise ships prohibits them allowing you to book direct because VA does most of the cruise line excursions in PV.

BTW, the next time we go to Cabo San Lucas, we will try one of these: http://www.cabosanlucastours.net/Canopy-Tours.htm

Thanks for the tips.  The Las Caletas tour sounds interesting.  I'm a little leery of the zipline tours.  A neighbor did one in Costa Rica and shattered her ankle on landing.  After several surgeries she still walks with a limp 5 years later.  As I approach 60 my bones don't heal as well.  An ATV or horseback tour is more my speed.

Mazatlan Frank does look like an interesting site.  Thanks.

I trust and have used these sites. There are several excursions on each to choose from:

Cabo:  http://www.cabosanlucastours.net/

Puerto Vallarta:  http://www.puertovallartatours.net/ , http://www.vallartaonline.com/

Johann & Sandra have a guarantee that if your ship doesn't make it to port, you don't pay (they refund your money).

We also did the Randi's Happy Horses a few years ago, and you get a lot

of bang for the buck.  However, I had a wild horse who got spooked when a wave came in and he took off and I tried to slow him down and he reared up not once

but twice and I was thrown off of one of Randi's horses.  It was my own stupid

fault, probably, because I pulled hard on the reins and didn't know that that would cause the horse to rear up like that,  but they didn't go over instructions with us how to

ride the horse there like they did  in Hawaii.  They didn't match up my husband

and I with the appropriately sized horse either.  My horse was way too broad

which was some of the problem, and my husband's horse was too little.

I was thrown and landed on the small of my back on the hard, wet sand.  I seriously didn't think

I'd be able to walk for like a minute, and I was so glad when I could walk.   when Randi found out about the incident,

she said that that was the second time that week that something like that

had happened.  I know Everyone loves Randi to pieces, , BUT

her attitude was quite cavalier when she found out I'd been thrown, and

she tried to crack jokes about it while we were at Victor's.  I was nauseated

for the rest of the day.  I think I might have had a concussion too.

HEY, this is starting to sound way too MACOP -- :lmao1:

Anyway, proceed with cautioin is what I'm trying to say.  I never wanted to

post this anyplace else, i.e., the darkside, since they'd ream me for speaking

out about the beloved Randi, but after she downed a couple brewskies, she

made light of my incident and became rather obnoxious, I thought.  There is no way I'd go on her excursion again.

My back is still in a lot of pain from that day.  If only they'd gone over how to

ride a horse [like they do here in the U.S.] I seriously don't believe this would have

happened to me.

We just got an email from Princess saying they upgraded us to a BA balcony on Caribe deck.  Is that a covered balcony deck?
