Pros
Beautiful ship, $15 buckets of XX (5 beers), the margarita pizza, horizon court and Caribe cafe(or whatever it's called) were both good, adults only pool (only problem is it's right underneath the "shopping cart handle so sometimes not much sun), MUTS, the lobster buffet. Princess limits the number of youngsters (300 out of 3100 pax - the CVP i was working w/even gave me a breakdown of how many in what age cat about 1 month before the cruise (ex....12 infants/toddlers, 140 4-14 y/o...etc. Adult rule is enforced in the adult pool (I tested it on more than one occasion), got to port around 10:30 and was second or third in line until the party of around twenty came up and was with the folks ahead of us but was on the ship before noon. Ship was easy to navigate. The lotus spa products are great (they were in the goody basket) liked them so much had the steward bring me a bunch of them - still have some of them and the scent reminds me of the cruise! room service never took more than about 5 min to bring coffee no matter what time i called and a couple mornings it was REALLY early - like around 2 or 2:30ish - had them bring me two pots at a time to save them from having to come back lol. liked being able to go to the very front of the ship...only problem was if ya got sprayed.
Cons
The biggest complain I had was that I had to get off the ship Pools caused major shrinkage , no hot tub (that i saw) in the adult pool area, regular hot tubs were cold as well. Hot tubs near MUTS were full of kids when there was a kiddie movie on, I had to get off the ship at the end, stay away from the "jamaican me crazy" before sail away (had several before and had to nap...almost missed the sail away partae), the aholes made me get off the ship at the end, i heard there was an area forward (maybe above the bridge??) that one could sun the "girls" if they wanted but never found it...oh and did I mention that it ruined my entire experience when they made me get off the ship?
Make any ressies for dinner as soon as you get there. The UBD is made through room service if I remember correctly.
Whole bunch of other stuff that seems to escape me at the moment but i'm sure I'll remember and post if you don't mind me sullying your thread lol.

Thanks, Liv!
One of the reasons I booked the CB was for the aft adults-only pool area. I LOVED it on the KP! (That, and the bar there...) And it doesn't bother me if it's shady -- I don't sit in the sun, and end up wearing burkha-like wraps if I go in the sun.
I think hubby will get a real charge out of the walkway to Skywalker's; he really liked the glass staircase over the 7-story atrium on the Costa Atlantica, too. (I wouldn't step foot on it... ) I liked being able to go out on the bow during sail-away, too.
Do you know if they do Guinness in the beer buckets?
We'll be in a mini-suite -- do we get the Lotus products, too?
We also had ~great~ service from our room steward in our mini on the KP. He was a real sweetie, did everything we asked, and even more.
Reading between the lines of your post, it must have really bummed you out that they made you get off the ship...

No problem...I do try to be helpful when I can, which isn't very often LOL...I just come here for the free coffe
Oh yeah...skywalkers is great too. When up there when it was empty - not really into the dance club thing.
What is the KP? (Coral Princess?)
We were on the Aloha deck....almost at the back of the ship so if the balcony cabins get them, I'm sure you will too having a mini and such.
Don't know about the buckets. I just know that they had that as a daily special and i like XX so that's what I stuck to most of the time. Oh and the aft pool has a bar too...Outriggers I think.
Exactly....Liv was notcho happy about having to get off that ship...almost cried as it pulled into FLL. Tried to bribe the steward the last night and he just laughed lol.
What itinerary are you sailing? We did an eastern w/Princess Cay up front..it was nice having those last two days at sea...force you to relax LOL.

KP is Crown Princess. We sailed during her inaugural season out of NYC, shortly after the tilt. I'm not real fond of the exterior architecture of the Grand class ships -- more like a floating brick than an ocean-going vessel -- but I like the understated elegance of the decor.
We were on the Dolphin Deck of the KP, and will be similarly situated on the CB. We thought about going for the extra-large balcony on the Caribe deck, but opted for more interior space with the mini instead. Even though the balcony is completely exposed, we liked being on the furthest exterior terrace of balconies. Best views, without having to look down on others' balconies.
I'm well acquainted with the bar at the aft pool.
We'll be on an Eastern itinerary out of NYC. One day to Bermuda, one day there, another day to San Juan, then St. Thomas and Grand Turk, and two days home. I like having those sea days sandwiching the port days, too, which is one of the reasons sailing out of NYC works so well for us. While we've never done less than a week-long cruise, doing even 7 days now seems very short!

Got it. Oh the tilt cruise Only been on the CB but I kinda like it (much better than those "things" that ncl has...JMO)
I'd like to try an aft just for the balcony. Don't need much room so the mini isn't for me and I've had a dream about being in a mini, having coffee on the balcony in the wee hours of the morning and the balcony falling off.
Agree....7 days is too short. I'd like to do one of their 10 or 14 day cruises...*someday* Which reminds me...I need to head to the district and get some lotto tickets lol.

We had a corner aft on the CB and it was the best cruise we have taken. We loved everything about that trip.
We really liked the seafood buffet. They also had a sushi night. MUTS at night is really special. They hand out popcorn and blankets. Even if the movie is not great, it's a really neat experience.

Jen, you mention a couple of things I didn't get to do on the KP that I really need to go out of my way to try on the CB -- the seafood buffet and MUTS at night. This time around it's "just us kids" (Dad's not coming this time) so maybe we'll have more opportunity to snuggle under the stars.

| Dad's not coming? I am still price watching because I would LOVE to be on that cruise. So far it is out of reach....especially since I am wanting to quit my job.

LOL I hadn't specifically invited him, but when we talked on the phone last week he started quizzing me about it. I said, "Why? 'Ya wanna come along?" Sure, he'd like to, but can't this time.
Hope things work out with your job... Sure would be great for y'all to be along on this cruise!

When you going, Becky?
My DH & I were really bummed with the shortness of our last cruise (2 weeks ago on the Crown), but those sea days would make it so much better. Ya know, I've been on 4 Princess cruises so far, and still haven't been to Princess Cays?? Looks like this one doesn't make it there either - but I'd love to go to Burmuda. (I was just in San Juan and St. Thomas, and have been to Grand Turk)
Hey, when you go to Grand Turk, walk to the RIGHT of the pier after the morning snorkling excursions come in - when I was there, I bought a HUGE conch shell for only $1 - had no problem getting it home. (Of course, since I was on the tilt cruise, customs basically waved us through without looking at anything - could have bought all the booze I wanted to - too bad I had only bought 3-4 bottles. )

Hi, Cathy!
We're on the 8/15 sailing, and you're right -- no trip to Princess Cays this time, either. No big deal; I'm in it more for the ship and the opportunity to sail south than anything else. (Although I really am looking forward to Castaway Cay in December! )

Avoid cabin A751 there is NO hot water, although the room steward is a doll.

Thanks, Justmeann! We're on Dolphin deck, so no worries with that! I'll be on the look-out for Angelo. Thanks for the tip!

| Angelo is the sweetest guy, he had a table waiting for us in a special area of the restaurant, it was ours for whatever time we decided to dine, and even if we didn't eat there but in a specialty restaurant instead. He would arrange foods that were not on the menu for us. A true gentleman and so kind. Probably the nicest person I have ever met on a ship.

I had forgotten I'd started this thread. Thanks for bringing it back, Ann!
I think I used to be a spa junkie. I'm so sick and tired of the heavy push on products that I've pretty much stopped going. Didn't go at all on my last cruise, after a high of five visits on a 9-day. (Or would the high have been three visits on a 5-day? ) Although more recent cruisers have reported improvements in this area, I think they just got lucky.
Hmmmm, let's see... tips for the CB? Given the recent engine problems: Bring an oar.

I have nothing to offer here as I have never sailed Princess but I am so looking forward to hearing about your trip. We are considering this itinerary next summer.
Have a wonderful cruise!

I believe the Dolphin deck is the only one with open balconies. Caribe is half open, half covered.
You're on the cruise before me.

I don't remember Guiness on my Golden Princess or any other Princess cruise but I may have just overlooked it as I usually don't drink it unless its on tap or maybe cause I couldn't see past my mojito's!

I think I was on the Caribe Deck on the Golden/Grand Princess. I think I remember it being half-covered like Becky says. But I really don't kow about the Aloha Deck.

Thanks Rich! We were on Dolphin on the Grand and didn't realize until it was too late that the balcony was completely open. And small, very small.
