Yes... she's got me so worked up and excited, i couldn't sleep last night!!!
Five are booked with cruiseline, rest on our own.
We made the executive decision as sisters to book Paris. WOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OUI OUI
I hadn't bothered to research it, so that is my job this wknd.
I've nickled and dimed every excursion they offer, some are a complete rip off, others work out to be a bit cheaper.... and some are just more conveniant than others. The Paris excursion is going to be alot of sleeping on a bus, but it was actually more conveniant than the train, and only 30 min longer. Pick up and drop off in the vicinity of what we want to see, so that's good.Train would have involved a subway, and converting my brain from English to French and figuring things out. This way we've omitted the subway. If anyone is booking the high speed train, better get doing it early. The day we are there, the normal seats are sold out, only economy left(whatever is wrong with them is beyond me). The train was $65. Cdn pp each way. That's not cheap, and it's 2hrs20 min from LeHavre, and there's only one really that you can do. The rest are too early in am or too late, and only a few are no connectors in Rouen.
Looks good until you try to actually plan it out!

Ya this is the train I had heard about the express one is called The Bullet. We should investigate it a bit further..People on the last cruise just went to the station and bought tickets...said it took them about an hour to get to Paris.

I can't find any other train service. The above link is really convoluted, and difficult to get exact info. I did have it last night, but was too huge to copy here. But from what I can find there is no train that can do the route to Paris under two hours, and some trains involve a transfer in Rouen. Rue St Lazare is the common point (station) in Paris tho, and it is in the general vicinity of where we would want to be. Too far to walk tho?
Will see how far the train station in Le Havre is from the port.

Getting To Paris: Le Havre's train station is about a mile from the port though, in most cases, passengers will have to take the shuttle from the ship to the center of Le Havre and then a taxi to the station (or take a taxi directly from the port to the station). Trains run to Gare St-Lazare (Paris) roughly every hour; at press time, ideal morning departures were limited to 7:56 or 10 a.m.; returns from Paris, depending on ship's sailaway schedule, include 4:48, 5:58 and 6:40 p.m. For more information contact RailEurope.com (800-942-4866).
this info seems consistant with what I have been finding

we don't... .........Paris cancelled. Now to finding a limo service. Very easy to book excursions or cancell on their web site. Hope it's not deceiving.
Flights came up on web site, so things are moving along. Cruise Personalizer works well. Havent' printed off boarding passes yet, will see how that does.

Too much discussion about what we can or can't see in such limited time frame. We all agree that we're too old to plug away like a bunch of thirty year olds, so are going to take the less strenuous pace. DH wanted to see the Normandy Cdn war beaches, so I guess that's back on the stove top. I want to see Honfleur
Bus was 3 hours each way. Train was 2. Not much time to walk and que up for attractions, and certainly no time to wander thru a museum or art gallery. I'll make Paris a land trip in the near future.
Personally I don't care about the war beaches. I'd rather be shopping sipping and seeing, and if we should be visiting any war spots, it should be my uncles gravesite in Uden. or catching a ferry to go to Jersey where his relatives are from.

I was actually quite emotional that morning at the beaches and then the afternoon in Honfleur was magical..outside of the Orkney Islands it was our best day on the cruise.
