We've booked cruises for the last two or three years through an on-line TA (that we have been very happy with, BTW) but I'm wondering what your experience is with booking through an NCL PCC?  Specifically, if you were to call to book your cruise, does your PCC come up with a price that's lower than the price you end up with through NCL's website?

I notice that the price difference between my on-line TA and NCL (on NCL's website) is less than $1000 now (and sometimes considerably less) -- in some cases close enough that it may be worth it to book through an NCL PCC and have better control over my booking.

Thoughts?  We haven't heard from our PCC in AGES, so I would be in the market for one...

TIA!

Hi Peggy!  In my experience the PCC's can't do any better than the prices on the website, but they can combine offers when applicable (which you can't do if booking online).  So if you're booking something that will allow for the latitudes discount to be combined with a military discount and there's an OBC offer on top of it all, the PCC will be able to get all of that for you.

The main benefit to booking with a PCC is that you own the reservation and can talk to anyone at NCL about it.  I still will use an on-line TA when I'm booking something simple or last minute (like my Spirit cruise last September), but I use my PCC more and more as I'm just willing to pay a little more for the convenience of being able to contact someone at all times...

Are you getting ready to book the Epic or has that been taken off the table???

Aimee

Ahh, as much as I would have LOVED to be on that TA, it doesn't look like it's in the cards...:(

We're actually THINKING about going on the Gem in March, provided we can get a decent deal -- and of course we'd have to be in a balcony/better.  There's LOTS of availability on 3/20 right now; it may be a VERY last minute booking.  NOT my idea -- I wanted to take some time off in March/April to do some sprucing up around here (painting/etc.) but I don't think Joe's really INTO that, so I may break down if he decides to do a week on the Gem instead... but what he DOESN'T know is the painting will STILL need to be done...:dangit:

I have used a TA for all of my bookings on NCL and other lines.  She has always been able to come up with a better price than what NCL has.

style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #c6e1d7"My TA is the best in the world! She is also my sister :big grin::big grin::big grin:!  She would say that I am her nightmare client, LOL!  She is part of a large agency that has many cruise and travel names.  She understands that I will book with the lowest price but her agency will match a lower published fare so they are competitive.  She also has been on many cruises so she knows the cruise industry very well.

style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #c6e1d7"Send me a PM if you would like her number.

We've used both and found the service from our pcc a little better. For example when we booked our last cruise and it came time to select a cabin the pcc recommended a couple of cabins that were not near noisy places (above, below, and both sides). I find that the on-line TA's are order takers and "say x cabin is available would you like to book it now?". The on-line TA's are cheaper, but we have gotten price reductions and OBC after booking

It's funny how projects don't disappear just because you go on vacation!  :big grin:  We'll be doing some painting ourselves this spring.  :vomit:

I'm sorry we won't see you in June...and next January for that matter!  I'm sure we'll manage to sail again though!
