I'm sure they won't all see it either - We usually head out a day early but try to check the email etc the night before sailing. But not everyone will do that - so I can imagine the stories next week. The ship left without me

As I posted on the Fay thread when I added this press release earlier this morning if nothing else Fay will teach a number of folks why the have to fly in the day before a cruise.

I think the press release needed its own thread. Hopefully it will save at least one person. I remember in 99 the Norway was in Europe and had a samll fire. They cancelled one cruise. Had it not been for the internet(back then RTC newsgroup) I would have never known. I was flying offer 2 days early and would have been in Barcelona when NCL called to tell me the cruise was cancelled.

Completely out of control - My last post there was about all the spam and the fact the newsgroup was now all but unusable. You would have though I posted one of those one post wonder nightmare reviews. The "loyalists" jumped om me for not knowing how to use all the blocking tools etc. Never been back but it was a lifeline in the 90s.

3:11 the Sky is still at the pier. Should be a damp few days onboard. Nothing like GSC in the rain. The one and only 4 night cruise I did it rained for 3.5 days. I got to stand all alone on the beach at GSC in a rain poncho, drift in 20 foot seas of Grand Bahama with the entrance to the port closed, and run thru the straw market in Nassau dodging the rain.

A little off-topic here............Jim, how could I find out in the QE 2 has a deck cam like that one on NCL you just posted?

Well we figured that was going to happen - but only 12 cruisers is not too bad. Unless of course you're one of the 12
I would imagine that trip insurance may cover the costs of hotel & redirecting the flights - Assuming they were smart enough to purchase it.

The DS has a similiar thread to this one. Except their version is 8 pages long and not nearly as friendly

Here's the latest:
I saw it. Keystone doing his usual war dance with is new screen name. Banned for life but still there with the same focus. 12 people missed the ship and NCL is going to pay with bad PR for ot giving these people free hotels and air home. The other 2000+ made it. NCL is giving them discounted hotel space, full refunds, and help rebooking air. Somehow dispite what Keystone thinks the bad PR (or lack of it in this case) is not going to cost them much if anything.

and I bet about the same number of folks will miss the ship today. It happens every cruise. With the weather in N. FL I am sure there will be cancelled and delay flights. I guess NCL should pick up their expenses as well.
