So glad to hear that - Jay will do very well there. So what happened with Henry and Ramadan? We were in the A2 Deluxe Owners Suite and ran into Jay on deck 11 - almost made me wish we had an AB - Got to visit with him for awhile and catch up from last years Spirit cruise. Way to go Jay !!!

Thank you Jim - I'll add that photo to my collection - he's such a sweet man. You gave me my smile of the day with the photo.

Your would have had a butler if your AA did not smell like a sewer. No way he was going into that stink

Henry was the butler for the deck 10 suites but never was seen after the first day. Our group had four suites on deck 10 (one of them being the owners suite) and he never came around.

Henry was our butler in our AE suite 8632 last weekend - did not really seem interested - we had no welcome letter introducing himself and doubt we would have really seen him if we hadn't ordered wine in our suite ( it took us 3 phone calls to find out who was our butler and get his number) - the one additional request we made for a small plate of sandwiches in our cabin on our return from Bruges was not delivered.
We were so disappointed - all our other butlers have been real stars and really looked after us.
Also - call me a snob - but I really hate these t- shirts that they are making the crew wear - Ruth had one on when we got on the ship - did not see her after that - but both days Henry was wearing a t-shirt rather than his uniform.

I guess they were packing both parties in the two night. One t-shirt for the White Party & one for Monte Carlo Party. On the twelve day the only 2 days they were not in full uniform.

I agree, I hated the T-shirts for the crew on our recent cruise. Seemed cheap to me.

During our cruise Henry was our butler after the second day - Ramadan initally introduced himself as our butler - but then they had quite the crowd in the GV, so Henry took over our suite as well as the Courtyard Villas, and believe me he didn't much like answering the phone then either. I honestly don't think he was happy on the Jade - could be because they decided to stay in Europe? who knows - not that he did anything bad - just didn't seem too happy to be there. But then, like you we've always been previously blessed with excellent butlers. We just didn't click and here I was thinking it was just me.

We didn't experience that as we sailed prior to the 2.0 being initiated - but it would seem to me a nice golf type shirt with collar would be more appropriate. That must have been a sight - Ruth in a Tshirt - bet she wasn't happy either.

I wonder if this is the same Henry we had on the Star a few years back. He did not like us calling him (his nap time), would forget half of the things for dinner in our cabin(Owner's Suite) and forgot a party we were having one evening.

No, not the same Henry. The Henry you are referring to we met on the Sun originally and he actually trained Jay - so Jay keeps in contact with him and Henry, who we now refer to as Henry the First, was on the Star the past two years. I'm really surprised that you didn't receive exemplary service from him - because we certainly did on the Sun. Older gentlemen - I cannot seem to get my photos small enough to upload here, or I'd post a photo of both of them.

This Henry was young ( I have a pix but it is on another computer) from the Phillipines. He was thin and about 5'9.

That's sounds like our Henry !! If we'd have been on the ship any longer I would have requested a change of butler .

I tried to talk to Henry one day but he wasn't interested at all. The only answer I got was that he's working for NCL since seven years!!!
I found him on one of Jim's pics. I never was able to take one of "Invisible Henry".

The feed back from our mini group(two cabins) was that Henry was not pro-active, if called or asked things did get done.
I wonder if this is a side effect of low tippers on a few of the previous cruises.
We are very low mantainance cruisers so not realy a problem for us.
An active user of butler services like in room dining would probably want a more active approach.
The cabin steward in that aft section was the first we have had on NCL not to earn a bit extra, not bad just something missing.
As for dust, these are not isolated reports.
I think there is something wrong on the ship, even after a good clean surfaces were getting dusty in hours, I suspect the Aircon which I think was also responsible for the stinky cabin issue, dust on the heater elements probably in use for the first time since the ship was built and throughout the system.

Funny thing with so many of you talking about dust I went in search of it in the A3. I found none. I even checked the top of the fidge and behind the TV.
Keep in mind my cabin went through a full wash and rinse cycle

Yes, that's him, Henry of the Jade. Although on our trip he was not invisible (to be fair) just as someone else has said - not "proactive". We aren't high maintenance cruisers either, breakfast in room for early port days. I think Henry said he had come from the Jewel.

On the last morning I asked the cabin steward of the AC next day where henry is. Guess what he answered?!
Who's Henry?

Too funny. Who's Henry - maybe we should start a new thread "Where's Henry". But that wouldn't be fair cause nobody knows what he looks like. :picture:
I'm going to go find the old pic of Henry the First and see if I can't get it small enough to post here. DH may have to help as I'm not technically inclined.

| Dust - not a major problem in our cabin (A2) - but I'm wondering if the dust was from the construction (new casino) and somehow got into the air systems? I do recall it was pretty dusty down on deck 6 when they were working during the TA.
