The other night there was HUGE thread on CC about the Dawn (I think?) and the 18 year old boy that was kicked off.  It was started by his sister.  It looks like it is gone - anyone know what happened to get it zapped?

That was difficult to read, but I managed part of the first page. You can't please everyone and this person obviously was not pleased in the least!

It was poofed as I watched. One minute it was on the list, the next minute gone. My guess is that it got even nastier than the last time I'd read it a couple of days prior. Dang, some of those people over there are really mean. I'm really surprised the mods have allowed them to run rampant the way they have -- they've poisoned that board. It takes me all of three minutes to scan through 2-3 days' worth of post titles anymore; I can't stomach reading much. :vomit:

LOL! Since we have cruises booked with NCL and Princess I get to check them both out!  After posting my question the other Dawn thread started heading back up to the top of the page again.  I'm a little surprised that it is still around!

I'm pretty sure that every last person who has sailed on NCL to Bermuda is warned that they have a zero tolerance policy for illegal drugs.  When I was on the Crown in 2004, the Freestyle Daily included warnings every single day about Bermuda sending drug-sniffing dogs on board all ships at any time.

For the benefit of anyone who hasn't been on a Bermuda cruise yet, here's warnings from both Bermuda and the US State Department:

http://www.bermuda-online.org/illegalimports.htm

http://hamilton.usconsulate.gov/arrests.html

It should come as no surprise when somebody winds up as a guest of Her Majesty's jail for this stuff.....

Last week on the Dawn the young couple next to us had their cabin searched.  I don't know what they found, the young woman was out in the hall crying while security was searching and she said "It was only a small piece".

I was kind of surprised they weren't put ashore.  We saw them out on the balcony as we pulled into NYC.

Serves her right for hoarding cake from the chocoholics buffet!!! :P

Seriously though, I wonder if NCL security didn't do them a favor and confiscate the contraband without reporting it to the Bermuda authorities???

I vividly remember our cruise director four years ago advising anyone who brought drugs on board to "make sure that they were gone" before the Crown arrived in Bermuda.  Somebody asked if it was OK to toss them overboard, to which he reiterated (in a way not to upset the environmental officer, I'm sure) that everyone needed to make sure that their stash was either used up or gone before we reached Bermuda.  He made it seem like the crew didn't care if you consumed said items or chucked them over the rail, as long as there was no evidence left when we docked in St. Georges.....
