A question was raised on the other board, regarding whether the GV, OS and DOS's still had liquor included.
So, I googled it and come up with Google's cached (saved) version, dated May 3, 2008 (had to use tiny URL -- didn't copy & paste correctly):
http://tiny.cc/ogRMC
Here's the current link. Note that "Custom selection of liquor " is missing:
http://www.nclsuitesandvillas.com/GardenVillas/tabid/72/Default.aspx
If anyone has stayed in a GV, DOS or OS suite lately, I'd appreciate it if you could report back and let me know if the liquor is still included.
If not, then I'll report back after the 6/1/08 Dawn cruise and let you all know.
Thank you
Edited to add: It still shows up on the UK website, so I think Shoreguy's chicken got into the U.S. website!

Barb, I know you've already seen this...
Someone who just returned from the Dawn reported on the DS that the free bottles of liquor in OS's and GV's are no longer being offered.
Barb, will this make you think more heavily about August?

Yes, I did see it. Unfortunately, I booked it in the 3rd week of April, which was past final payment date. So, the cruise is paid in full.
It's definitely true, though, that I sure don't have the "special feeling" anymore with NCL. In the past three years, we've been in the OS twice, GV once, AE a few times. Not booking OS/GV's any more!
How about letting us know? What if I didn't read the message boards? I would have been livid when I got on board expecting liquor.
How stupid of NCL to take away a $100-250 perk. Just charge that much more for A1/A2/AA and keep the damn perk.
I know I can't be the only one who feels this way!
As far as I'm concerned, Freestyle = 2.0; sucks = 10.0

I agree 100%. We always book an AA for the the free liquor and soft drinks/water. Now I can book an A4, buy my partner a soft drink card and save thousands.
I believe the total actual liquor cost to NCL for an AA is about $21. per sailing, (3X7.00/bottle) My 19 day Panama canal cruise in September is over $8,000PP+onboard credit and NCL shore excursions=approx $20,000. or $1,000/day
As I also wrote on another board, I just don't have the same feeling being aboard the ships of NCL as I used too. What once seemed like an all inclusive vacation now feels like a fleecing.
While I was once so loyal that I picked vacations according to where NCL ships were headed, now I will pick a destination and see which cruise lines sail there, (ie Australia). The latitudes benefits certainly are not going to hold me to NCL and as much as I love most of the Conceirge and butlers I just can't see it anymore.
The suite perks on NCL used to be far superior to Princess, HAL, RCI and even Celebrity. The gap is closing.

$100-$250 perk you have to be kidding. The list they offered costs NCL $30-$75 duty free wholesale Not sure what they were thinking Not the end of the world Bar setup replaces it for $120- $250 with a better selection. I bet bar setup will be next on the hit parade.

For some, it's no big deal. For me, it comes down to the principle, not the money.
It's how they did it. When I booked, the "Custom Liquor Selection" was still listed on NCL's website.
How about those repeat pax who book, board and then expect to select their 3 or 6 bottles and they don't know about this change? It's certainly not going to foster good will.
I'll still cruise NCL, but I don't feel the same loyalty/trust anymore. Between this and the non-refundable, bigger deposits, I'll book AE's and just consider upsells to an OS or GV, if offered.

I agree with you. But, loyalty should work both ways.
RE: liquor prices -- I was using the liquor prices as if we paid for the bottles. I didn't realize they were THAT inexpensive. (wow)
I'm still going to enjoy my cruise to the fullest.
Enjoy yours, also.

I wonder how much of the "free" alcohol needed to be thrown away? I suspect many people could not/did not drink all those free bottles. Not all cruisers in those suites are heavy drinkers.

If that were the case, then it might have been more appropriate to reduce the amount given, rather than remove it altogether. What irks me about this is that it just seems like more of the "cheaping-down" of the whole experience. It doesn't seem like a wise business move to remove benefits from those who pay the most for their cruise.

Last November there were 2 of us in a Dawn Villa. We are not heavy drinkers. We had a party and went through 3 bottles and brought the other 3 home for holiday parties.....
It is really about the reduction of an amenity and NCL lowering the bar for suite perks.
In the past I had always felt that sailing in an OS or GV with NCL was like sailing on Silver Sea or Sea Dream but having large ship space and more passengers to mingle with. I don't know now.

It appears that the perk will be re-instated. See:

| I heard that today from NCL. She asked me not say anything but it looks like the news out. I am very happy that NCL is listening to past customers.

I meant to post earlier that on Tuesday of this week (13th), I received a brochure from NCL in the UK (I've booked directly with them in the past) advertising the suites and villas. Stated CLEARLY in that was the liquor option for Owners Suites and Garden Villas! Obviously nobody shoreside is speaking to anybody else!
