If you've previously had a Casinos at Sea card on any of the Norwegian ships, you may qualify for the discount (it's either 17 or 18%). Depending on play, some even qualify for a comped room.

Good luck! :proud:

Typically if you've played at all (reasonable amount) then you get 17% off a room.

To get a comp'd room,  you  need 4 hours at avg $50 bet, per day  (they work on some daily average figure... you can call & ask them what yours is)....

It's worth a phone call to find out.

I get a few mailing via mail or email a year but it it never when I can go...

Yes, I have the card and when we were the Spirit last Aug, I was in their "top 10" and got to use their money. Lost quite a bit anyways : )

My memory escapes me right now but is it the same number as NCL regular number and do I have to have a balance of points still left on the card?

I combined mine and my husbands and had them deduct from our onboard credit...

Thanks again!

The phone number is one the back of your CAS card. If you can't find that, you can Google Casinos at Sea and NCL and find your way directly to the web site, where the contact information is given.

No, you don't need to have a point balance remaining on your card to qualify for discounts/comps. ;)

Another one posted and confirmed.  Oh boy -- I guess we blabbed about it too much.  I had some real savings booking thru CAS.  But, then again, I paid for it at the machines.

Wow! I sure hope not! We got a comp cabin based on our play and upgraded to a suite for a fantastic rate...

I know we pay for it in the long run but if ncl discontinues this, that would be a bummer for us and them....

I agree -  board chatter has killed another golden goose.  I have to believe too many who had no business asking requesting the discounts and there had to be some upset TAs since what CAS was doing at a minimum was kicking back commissions.

When it was a same quiet operation it was no problem just like the old re-accommodation's desk.

I feel like a jinx.  After I asked, and received, an upsell in May, 2006 - just a few short weeks later NCL was no longer taking upsell calls.

Now, I booked my cruise (taken last week on the Dawn) thru CAS and BLAMM-O, it happened again with CAS.

*sigh*

I guess I won't take it personally, tho! :P

Also ---

The board chatter is going to kill booze smuggling via the 'Rum runners.' There were whole threads about them! Jeez, at least try to be a bit subtle when posting that sort of thing. I now know for a fact that NCL employees (on all levels) read the DS.

I wouldn't be surprised if it was the publicity generated by a certain poster from Ohio.  Guess she won't be liking NCL much any more.

Is there is a possibility that the CAS discount is being discontinued so it can be replaced by something else? I just can't see Apollo allowing a program which attracts gamblers to be totally canned.

That's possible.  Seems to me there was talk of a new program related to Harrah's.

Darn!  I really hope they aren't going to discontinue the CAS discount.  It was one of the reasons we booked with NCL.  They really had the best casino perks of all the cruise lines.

Do we know this for sure?  Are they taking away all the CAS discounts and comped cabins?  Or are they just taking away their offers for anyone who has a players card from a land based casino?

I really think it's awful to take away the discount from loyal CAS players.  Maybe they should skip the free drinks and give us back our discounted cabins!  Glad I already have 2 cruises booked with them!

It will not surprse me to see a 3% surcharge on cash in the near future as well. Those walking off the ship with 1000s in cash just to get points and blabing online will kill that goose as well.

Too bad they don't hook up with Mohegan Sun...If that was the case, I would probably get the Garden Villa comped (<------- is that a word?) if they looked into my sun players card...:big grin:

Ok, I just spoke to a supervisor at CAS.  She said that this would only apply to those who are looking for a discount based on their play in a land based casino.  CAS card members will continue to be offered discounts based on their play.

Glad I called!
