Any word on what the big promotion will be for next week in the one week special promotion? I can't wait for Monday. Looking at a couple of cruises and hoping to get a special on one or two of them. Thanks

Based on the first week, I'd guess that it's just going to be another OBC deal for a different destination.

I didn't look last week, so I don't know if they did this time or not, but I've seen NCL in the past jack their prices up to cover these OBC deals.

Having an on board credit is better than not having an on board credit.

I've seen NCL jack up their prices before which is why I always focus on several cruises and then book if the price is right or if the special is good. NCL won't be fooling me if they offer an on board credit and then jack up the price as I have studied too hard to allow this to happen to me. Buyer Beware. I am!

Thanks, Rich!  We're itching to book our Bermuda trip, and every little bit helps, especially with the prices they're charging right now!  We were even thinking it would be cheaper to fly down and stay for four or five days...

Thanks, Nhrich...This is why I started this thread...to get the specials before anyone else does...or at least anyone on AOL gets them . I'm not looking for Bermuda right now so I'll have to wait another week for what I want but at least I know I won't book during next week's special.

My travel agent just emailed me and told me that NCL was giving her a hard time with these freestyle resolution specials. It seems that NCL is supposedly offering special latitude rates for the freestyle specials and are not giving the on board credit as advertised.

What this tells me is that they might be deducting $50.00 on the price for latitudes but than not giving the $50.00 on board credit. So tell me where is the benefit of being a latuitude member in this case?

She also told me that the NCL sales have been far worst this year although I'm not sure whether she meant the NCL specials themselves, or her bookings with NCL. Probably both!

I've also seen some sailings (but not all) where that's been the case, and that's not at all unusual for NCL.

They do the same thing with group pricing, where the group prices are supposedly lower, but will offer some other rate that is lower than the group price.  In other words, you're sometimes paying extra to get the group amenities. :flamin:

I must say that this round of specials is the worst Wave season specials I've seen from NCL (they used to have some of the best).  NCL is getting much more restrictive with all of their specials, and they're becoming worse and worse to deal with as an agent.  I'm hoping that will change with the new partial ownership.  I know quite a few agents that won't even sell NCL because of how they're operating now.

NCL just e-mailed out a link for the latest Latitudes magazine a few moments ago.  Rather than wrestle with the cut/paste format of the e-mail, here's the link to the web page they want everyone to visit:

http://ncllatitudesmagazine.com/

For those having problems viewing the magazine due to their use of that hokey flash page-turning app, there is a link on the bottom of the web page to convert it to .PDF format so you can save/download it.  I tried to upload the results as an attachment to this post, but the board software [rightfully!] rejected the *huge* attachment.  The following link is apparently what was used to generate the .PDF file that I downloaded, and it might work for everyone else to grab the page as well:

http://online.ncllatitudesmagazine.com/getMagPdf.php?mid=pphsw

YMMV, of course.

If all else fails and you absolutely need a copy of the .PDF file, let me know and I'll throw it up on a web site somewhere.  Or, better yet, let NCL know that their crappy flash application is interfering with your ability to read this important customer communication every time they send it out..... :nono:

Well, I am not impressed with NCL's Bermuda offerings -- they want more for a G (obstructed view) stateroom on the Dream in July than we paid for our 11 night SC cruise on the Noordam!!:flamin:  I realize that cruising in July to Bermuda is "prime time" but the prices are out of this world!  Not only that, but since they're offering $50 OBC the price went up $50 PP...

Well, with NCL playing these games they'll have a tough time selling their product.

I looked at the small print for the current promotion and there it is in plain sight:

This special offer is not combinable with any other offer. Offers are based on availability, capacity controlled, not combinable with other offers, subject to change without notice, and may be withdrawn at any time. Other restrictions apply.

So like my travel agent said the current promotion is not available with any other discounts such as latitudes, union, military, residential, senior, and the like.

Riddle me this, Batman...When is a special not a special? When it is being given by the Norwegian Cruise Lines.

Nothing new same small print for years - pick your best promo/discount and book or don't book.

I realised yesterday that if the 4 of us take the AB on this Jade trip, our share for the 12n is more than the total we paid for 3 cruises last year including flights, 2 TA,  32nights, actualy an II inside would be about the same cruise only. I know we get the extras for being in the AB but still.

OK it is a popular Itinery and the first time NCL have done it for years(the dream used to do this trip, it is in the 2002 brochure and I think is was done 2003) but when you can do three trips for the price of one you have to think carefully.

Did anyone really think that they were going to get free lobsters in the main dining room every night and *not* see an increase in price???

Besides, I get the feeling that NCL financed "that new ship smell" with 3/1 ARMs, and the early ships are coming due for their first rate adjustment in a tightening credit market..... :(

Well, I don't eat lobster so they can keep that and give me the lower prices.
