Since it has been determined that the morons at AOL have chosen to block all NCL latitude emails as spam, I was wondering if someone who actually gets them could post their messages in this thread. This way all of us with AOL can share in what the specials are. I'm afraid that I might be missing out on a great special that I am unaware of. I know about the NCL web site's latitude specials page and visit it each week but I am wondering if there might be other short-lived or extra special promotion notifications that I am not getting. Thank you for your time.

Just a heads up...the annual Freestyle Resolution Sales Event starts January 7.  It's going to be a series of seven one-week specials, each highlighting a different destination.  My hunch is it's not going to be as good as past years, based on the sale trends I've been seeing with NCL, and the fact that it's not going to be a big sale across the board for the full Wave season.

Here's the one from last Friday that expires tomorrow.

If you add listmaster@nclspecials.com to your e-mail address book, these e-mails *might* get through AOL's spam filtering.....

Hey Rich, are the NCL TAs for 2009 out yet?

Not yet.  I'll be pleasantly surprised if they come out before the 2009 Europe itineraries (probably another few months).

Thanks, nhrich, I was wondering when the next big NCL sales event was going to be. I'm looking at a couple of more cruises for 2008 but would rather book during a special. I don't want to deal with their 'no changing after booking to get a lower price' situation.

Vreihen, I do have that NCL email adress in my email box but AOL still blocks their emails from the get-go. A few of us here that have AOL also have the same problem so I'm hoping this thread could help them too.

My $0.02 is to open a free e-mail account at Yahoo, Hotmail, or even Google/gmail.  Give that address to NCL, and use it for all correspondences with them.

I have had a Yahoo mail account for over 10 years, and NCL's mail gets through to it as long as I have the sender in my address book.  Over the years, I have changed Internet providers at least four times, but my personal e-mail address has stayed the same thanks to Yahoo.

My guess is that someone on AOL keeps hitting the spam triangle on NCL's e-mails, and the result is mail from @nclspecials.com is now permanently blocked as a result. :(

Oh, dare I say stay tuned for this week's specials e-mail, which should be hitting my Yahoo mailbox sometime this afternoon if they're sending on schedule this week.....

I actually do have a yahoo email account but all I ever get is the usual spam stuff...drugs at a cheap price...porn sites for a cheap price...update a financial account that I don't have...and all that other stuff. I usually go to it once every couple of weeks just to delete everything at once.

I'm looking forward to the next round of NCL specials. Maybe this time I can score something great.

According to the NCL web site latitude specials there are only four cruises listed this week. Man, talk about cutting back. There used to be many more each week. Well, maybe they are getting ready for the next promotion.

It is a shame that AOL blocks due to spam. It is nice to know what is happening with the cruises. I am taking a cruise in February on the Majesty and another at the end of March to mid April on the Spirit. I am looking forward to that. I just hope the weather will be nice for the sail away. It seems that is what I always look forward to because I just love to dance to the sail away music. I have fun all the time even when they have other times do dance on the cruise.

My hubby always surprises me and this time was no different with the cruise in February. I was very happy about that. The next cruise during our 2 weeks away will be during our 19 anniversary. I can't believe it. How time flies. :partytime:

The fuel surcharge will certainly add up each time one takes a cruise. If you think about it, gas prices are expensive. If one drives some where, one will have to pay the price for that, too. Air fare is expensive, so cruising is a good way to see the world.

Happy cruising and :partytime:all the way.  LFSC

Keep in mind the best deals never show up in the weekly specials. Sometimes they last only days or hours. You have to keep pricing and checking various sites. Great deals need to be found they will not come to you.

Solo special on the Gem TA never published. 6 price drops on the Gem Dover to Barcelonia never published. ..........

Believe me, I spend too many freaking hours on this computer everyday checking out many cruise travel web sites looking for a good price. I like to plan an imaginary trip during each month and when the price drops to what I like I'll book it, which is why I have two cruises booked, one in February and one in March. Never thought I would have cruises in back to back months but I'm looking for something for June, something for the summer, and something for the fall as well as for the following year. It doesn't cost anything to look except time...like I have plenty of that. Just want to get the best price possible since going on a cruise can be a lot of money.

Looking forward to the next round of NCL grand promotions.

Thank you. Any more information on the annual Freestyle Resolution Sales Event that starts on January 7 that nhrich wrote about? Any particular new web site where we can find this info?

The only new site I've seen requires an agent sign-on/password.  Doesn't look like they're going to release any info ahead of time.  I should be able to see next week's specials on Monday.

BTW, the e-mail with the math error is correct on the version that goes to agents.  They have $599 + $49 = $648.  Maybe we've just proven that 599 and 799 are the same thing (and if only we could get NCL to agree with that logic).

The previous ncl 2 day sale web site now has the following mentioned on it:

NCL's 2-day Sales Event has ended.  But don't worry, starting January 7, 2008,  NCL will have a new great offer on a new destination each week for seven weeks as part of our Freestyle Resolution Sales Event.  Log onto ncl.com to find out more.

As of this moment, there is nothing listed on the ncl.com web site about this so we'll just have to wait another day to find out what the first special is.

Solo special on the Gem TA never published. 6 price drops on the Gem Dover to Barcelonia never published. ..........

Jim, which websites DO you check to find out any about these ephemeral specials? I do spend a lot of time online but maybe looking in the wrong places. Could you please enlighten me?

Boy, my e-mailbox has been *exploding* with NCL e-mail this week!  It appears that they fixed the math error in the footer, but I don't have two working brain cells to check it to see if they got it correct right now.

Subject: Hey Latitudes Member, it???s NCL???s Europe in 2008 with great new views.

Even if you've been to Europe, you've never seen it like this. Try cruising to Europe with NCL in a balcony stateroom or suite. You'll be sitting on your own private balcony gazing at the Rock of Gibraltar, the white cliffs of Dover, the medieval walls of Dubrovnik and the charming villages of the Mediterranean along the way.

So take this opportunity to enrich yourself by traveling to new places and learning a new thing or two along the way aboard one of NCL's three new ships, Norwegian Gem, Norwegian Jade or Norwegian Jewel. This season, we've got even more balconies, exotic itineraries and new ports of call. Not to mention the comforts of Freestyle Cruising®, which lets you dine, play, relax and party on your own schedule, not ours. Cruise the lands of happily-ever-after in an area rich in folklore and fairy tales, like Denmark, Germany, Estonia, Russia, Finland, Sweden and the British Isles. <
