I will smuggle if I can find a liquor store in Venice. Just don't want to take the chance of the bottles leaking trans Atlantic. We were planning on taking wine onboard, so searching for a liqour store is on the agenda. It would be easier if we both drank the same types, but we he's red and I'm white!
I understand wine is ok and no need to smuggle. I wonder if they limit it?

You don't have to smuggle wine, and I remember one of my favorite stores in Venice, fairly close to the Rialto Bridge the next plaza towards St Marks, a nice wine store that had lots of Italian wines, but the best part was wines of the Venetto region in huge copper tanks, and you could fill a jug with Amarone or Pinot Grigio or Valpocella, etc.  If I lived there, I would be stopping there everyday!:proud:

yeah it shocked the hell out of me.  :finger:  I was just pointing out that it didn't have any wines that North Americans are used to seeing.

I really didn't see a liquor store on the islands, but maybe on the mainland.  My experience in Italy everywhere has been buying hard liquor is expensive and hard  to find.  The only exception would be Grappa, which is available all over Venice, priced from fairly reasonable to OMG.

Woooo HOOOOoooo I found it. You have to put your booking ID in before you get the "good order list"... I love the ability to purchase a few glasses of wine rather than always a bottle pack. Spa packs weren't very detailed. There is definately a need for improved web design. More info is needed for this shopping too. Glad to see the Gin and my brands of Beer... I am now happy.
