That is where we are staying. I had read many comments over on CC about the HI and it's location. When I was first booking a room nothing was available so we booked the Westin just up the street but I kept checking back and finally a room opened up. We are supposed to overlooking the port.

The Holiday Inn is definitely a great location and we thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at Anthony's in November 2006.

Gordon, we love Pipi's in Puerto Vallarta for great Mexican food, HUGE margaritas, and freshly made guacamole right in front of you. The waiter brings a little table to you and custom makes guacamole for you with whatever ingredients you want. It is awesome and the margaritas and food are great too.

If you are adventurous, I recommend a couple of different ziplines in PV (Los Veranos and El Eden. They filmed our Governator's movie The Predator at El Eden). If this doesn't interest you, let me know what you like.

I have some great links in my favorites on my computer at home and will post them later.

Thanks Tim. Pipi's sounds great too. I think that I have dining all wrapped up in the ports.:big grin:

Not sure about the zip line. Heights and I don't get along very well. I would probably have to go back to the ship and change my shorts.:big grin:

Mike, stupid question here but do you remember what brand bottled water was on the ship? Please tell me it was not Evian as I can't drink that crap. I asked on CC but did not get a direct answer.

Thanks, G

Also, what do you suggest to do in the three ports? My first time on the Mexican Riviera.

In Mazatlan you MUST go to Tony's on the beach for lunch....make sure you get the right one though..there is a Tony's you pass on the way to Tonys on the Beach and some taxis try to take you to the first one....There are 2 things you have to order...the Lobster and Shrimp platter for 2 and the Steak Mocahete....we had both of these between 3 of us and were stuffed and had leftovers..My wife and I agreed it was the BEST food we have ever eaten in Mexico..if you go to the Mex Riv board on CC and search Tonys on the beach you will see much info on it...when you get out of taxi it looks like an abandoned office building but walk thru the passageway and go all the way to the back to the beach and there it is...the staff are awesome, accomidating and act like you are their old friends as soon as you arrive and NOT just to try to sell you something, they really want you to eat and enjoy!

All that food, 3 beers, a couple of maggies and total damages was around $75 US  oh and with the Loster platter you get tortilla soup or salad..get the tortilla soup...it is GREAT!

Mike, thanks for the tip on Tony's. Outstanding. We had the steak and chicken Mocahete. I could not believe how inexpensive it was to eat there. Cost almost as much in cab fare as it did to eat.

Glad you liked it Gordon!  Tony's will be on my "must do" list everytime I'm in Mazatlan now....did they plow you with free tequila shooters after lunch? :martini:

No shooters but there were a bunch of spring breakers who more than made up for it. I just stuck to Corona's.

We liked it. Loved that corner aft cabin but we had some crappy cool weather that made using it hard. The ship itself was a little Carnival like to me with it being dark. Food and service was good. Love the attention to detail that one gets on a ship that only carries around 2000 passengers. Would do HAL again though.

I think that I could live in San Diego. People very freindly and we really liked what we saw of the area.

We love San Diego too and could retire there if only if was as inexpensive to live as it was when I lived there in the 80's:flamin:

I havent done Carnival but I thought they were all bright and wild with all the crazy color patterns on their ships??
