We'll miss the Dawn out of NYC in winter time. How does M/S Noordam compare? Never cruised HAL before.

Hi! We just returned from the 10 night eastern caribbean on the Noordam. I have a blog at the top of the page that I haven't had time to finish yet -- I've been out straight with work since we got home! Hopefully tonight or tomorrow I will finish it up.
If you absolutely love the steel drum music and games on the pool deck all day, and listening to some great music in one of the bars at night, then this cruise is NOT for you. However, if you're looking for a relaxing vacation with excellent food, service and staff, on a beautiful ship with larger regular cabins than you'll find on NCL, then you will love this cruise!
We are booked on the southern caribbean cruise on the Noordam in March, and haven't decided yet whether or not we will go... I'll post more later.

Kim likes the pool band (when they're good haha) and music around the ship into the wee hours.
I don't mind as I have my own. My moving bill would be a few grand if I were in the GV: synthesizers, PA, computers, guitars, DRUMS!
I have looked at deckplans and pictures, gone over itineraries and the prices are competitive. Definitely a serious contender. Quaint little ship she is.

Kim & Dave: I finally posted the rest of my blog and post-cruise review -- it's stickied at the top of this page.
Let me know if you have any other questions, and I'll try to help you out.

Thanks. I'm reading that thread now. I noticed you were ten minutes late to the M&G so here's a little greeting for you!
