Celebration, Fla. (May 11, 2007)-- Disney Cruise Line guests will soon have another way to share their vacation highlights with friends and family back home when the cruise line unveils cell phone service at sea. Disney Cruise Line has partnered with Wireless Maritime Services (WMS) to provide a wireless cellular network aboard the Disney Magic and Disney Wonder.

Subscribers of more than 340 cellular providers worldwide, including US carriers, Cingular Wireless, Verizon Wireless, AT&T Mobility, Sprint, T-Mobile and Alltel, will be supported on the network. Those guests who still look for a cruise vacation as a way to escape need not worry--service will be available only in guest staterooms.

Guests who choose to use the network will be billed by their cell phone provider and rates will vary according to the carrier's plan. The ship's network will be enabled, while the ship is at sea, allowing guests to make and receive phone calls as well as utilize text messaging, email and other cellular services. While in port, the network will be disabled, allowing guests the ability to access local cell phone providers.

Cell phone service will begin onboard the Disney Magic in time for the first-ever transatlantic voyage on May 12. The Disney Wonder will follow adding service sometime mid-summer. Last year, Disney began to offer wireless internet access onboard the two ships, but when the service premieres on the Disney Magic in May, it will mark the first time guests will be able to use their cell phones during the cruise.

Wireless Maritime Services, (WMS), a joint venture of Cingular, now the new AT&T, and Maritime Telecommunications Network, is the leader in providing world class roaming, service and support focused solely on the cruise line industry.
