Costa Cruises announced its 2008 itineraries, which include new routes in the Indian Ocean, expanded spa getaways at sea, and new itineraries from Mauritius with stops in the Seychelles, Kenya and Madagascar. Costa's new 2008 brochure was released Thursday. Costa is offering the new 17-night itineraries from Mauritius with stops in the Seychelles, Kenya and Madagascar aboard the Costa Marina in the 2007/2008 winter season. Costa is the first company to market regularly scheduled Indian Ocean cruises to these destinations. As the company that introduced exclusive spa accommodations on the Costa Concordia and Costa Serena, Costa will further expand its spa getaways with "Wellness Packages" aboard the Costa Atlantica and Costa Mediterranea in 2008. Guests who book these packages may select from 44 spa accommodations on either ship in ocean-view, veranda and suite categories. The packages include exclusive amenities, a personalized wellness consultation, three complimentary treatments, two fitness or meditation classes, and complimentary access to the Wellness Restaurant, which offers spa-friendly cuisine.
In other news, Costa will have a 30 percent capacity increase in South America, where the company will deploy three ships (Costa Magica, Costa Victoria and Costa Classica) on sailings to Brazil, Argentina and Uruguay. Following the success of its inaugural year in Dubai, Costa will deploy two ships (Costa Romantica, Costa Europa) instead of one in the region for the 2007-08 winter season. In addition, the Italian company will once again feature cruises aboard the Costa Allegra from China, which were introduced in 2006.

Do you have any experience with Costa? I have read good and bad things about them. From what I understand, they were better before Carnival took them over. (that's just what I've read---I have no first-hand experience).

I haven't personally cruised with them yet. I am going to get a chance to tour and grab lunch onboard the Costa Magica when I go to the Cruise3Sixty convention at the end of March. I'll post a link to the pics that I take and let y'all know what I think of the ship and the lunch.
I do want to take a cruise with them sometime in the next year or two. I wanna try to be on all the major lines at least once so I can give people an informed opinion when they ask. Whenever I do, I'll post the review .
