There are many NCL faithful who took there very first cruise on the Norway. This is so with me and Rummie. We cruised the Norway in 1989 and have been adddited to cruising since.

When my DW (Rumncoke) suggested we go on a cruise, all I could think was what the hell am I going to do cooped up on a ship for seven days. Well, the second day I was laying in a lounge chair with my DW, thinking this sucks, when she said that I did not have to hangout with her 24/7. So, I was off. I ran into three guys in the bar who happened to be from Wisconsin. We started chatting and found we all like to play cribbage. So, off we went to find a card room to play (one of the guys had his board with him). A bar server kept checking in on us and suggested he bring us a case or two on ice and we said sure. He came back with the beer and also a tray full of nibbly foods. Later that day I asked my wife if we could live there. And the rest is addiction history.

I really wish we had looked at cruising on the Norway sooner. Unfortunately, it didn't happen for us. One thing I like about cruising is that you can meet so many different people and there is almost always someone that shares your interests.

With our little FOMT group (with all of its' connotations) we have met some very good long term friends. Mister Tractor and his wife (Virginia) have sailed with my wife and I (Colorado) a total of five times. There are others in the group which we have sailed with more than once. We come from all over the country/world.

I cruised on the Norway back in June of 94. I loved the ship but the service and food left a lot to be desired. The ship had just had a 60 million dollar refurbishment and looked great. Our room was a very nice size. I am glad that I had the chance to take a cruise on this ship. I had my photos out the other day looking at them. I need to get them scanned and put on my photo site.

My mom and I sailed on The Norway back in the mid-late 80's. (I don't keep a log of all my cruises, so I don't remember the exact year.)  I remember not liking the dining room, as it was an interior room with no windows and no views of the ocean.

Those are great pictures of the Norway! The only time I saw her was in St. Maarten before the boilers blew. I sooo wanted to try that ship.

She was a one of a kind and actually started the big ship building boom. I was glad to have been able to cruise on this ship. I loved the ship but the service and food left a lot to be desired. This was back in 1994 when NCL was going through one of their many money problem times.

I would liked to have cruised one more time but I understand that NCL really let her go in her last few years. Sad.

We sailed her in 2001 and she was still in very good shape. I think the rumors of her ill upkeep were fabrications.
