Azul opened the first week of Nov and the first reviews are coming in...I read 4 reviews and most were from a large wedding party (65) people that checked in the second day open.....some were good, some not so good but overall it looks like it will be great when it gets rolling and everything is in working order...I don't know who in thier right mind would go to a resort its first week open though, much less a wedding..here is one of the reviews...

Having never been to Mexico, my family was not sure what to expect when we arrived at this beautiful resort. We were served champagne upon arrival. What a great start. From there it just got better and better. Each nights dinner was a delicious treat. Italian, French, Mexican (the best chicken mole I have ever eaten), 24hr. room service,every kind of ceviche that you could ever imagine. Drinks, great wines, more drinks, more great wines and desserts that were not only delicious but also beautiful. This was a true gourmet's paradise. The staff was attentive to our every need. Our rooms were comfortable and offered many extras, flat screen TV, jacuzzi tub, all toiletries, coffee maker etc... The grounds and pools are beautiful. swim up bars, teak lounge chairs, beds by the pools, activities in the pool(water polo, aerobics) We had a wonderful , relaxing time at this first class resort. We will return.

I'm sure that when it was booked, they didn't expect the resort to only open the day before. Opening was delayed for about a month (which is pretty good for Mexico). These people are lucky the place opened when it did! So far, most of the problems look to be typical of a new resort.
It looks like we're going to that area in January (but not this resort). I won a three night stay at Valentin Imperial at a trade show for agents, and we're going to try to add three nights at Hacienda Tres Rios, who is also offering a special rate for agents in January. If we get some time, I may try to get over to Azul and check it out. I'm not sure if we'll want to go back again in 2010 or not (too may places, too little time), so we may wind up backing out of Azul.

We were the first guests to stay at this brand new, simply amazing resort. The food was awesome with a cornucopia of flavors fit for a king. The service and staff were excellent and did everything they could to make our stay memorable. The rooms are all very spacious and decorated to perfection. And did I mention that the food was good. We plan on going back sometime in the future. Well worth the spend!!!

We just returned from a 7 night stay at the Sensatori. We've been to many all inclusives and this place is the best. Check in was great , room request was honored to the t. Room and view were spectacular. Beatiful Hotel and grounds, very chique! The beach beds were great . Food was excellent, 13 course meal was an experience we'll never forget. Mexican restaurant was the best mexican food we've ever had. The chef is very talented and always came out to make sure everything was OK , Hector took great care of us. The best thing about the resort is the staff,they were all great and very freindly. This is a beautiful resort in every way. Do not hesitate to go and enjoy this great hotel, you will not be dissapointed.

Beautiful Hotel
My wife and I are very frequent travellers. We found this hotel excellent. The food was truly exceptional especially in the le Chique restaurant where we had a 13 course meal prepared by a chef experienced in some of the truly greatest restaurants in the world. We spoke with him and his experience is amazing. It would take me too long to describe how good and fun it was but all I can say is that it was the best meal I have ever had. Sorry mom.
Have to wonder about hidden agenda for the one very negative review I found. Understand the hotel just opened a few days ago and anyone who does not realize there will be a few opening issues must be a first time traveller. Beware of overly excited negative reviews.
