Jr. Jacuzzi Suite. It works out to $330pd pp including the airfare; I don't know what portion of the $3970 is represented by the airfare.

If they got one of the oceanfront suites or a swimup, that's probably not that high, figuring that's for two people.  She's going at a more expensive time than May is, and airfare from Louisville was probably a killer.

If it is an oceanfront Jr. without air it would be $240 pp That would make air and transfers (90 X 6) $540 pp

Isn't $540 a bit steep for air, or is it just me?  I knew fares were going up, but YOWSA!

One question about dinner attire.......I can't remember if I read about it here, or on a link for the resort.

BUT....is there a dress code for dinner?  (Don't worry, I don't want to wear jeans in the dining room!)

Keep in mind they only booked 5-6 weeks out, so they probably got hosed on the airfare.

Just did a quick check on Kayak 6 weeks out - Best fare $648 with 9 hours travel time home.

or shorts

To enhance your unique dining experience we maintain a casual elegant dress code:

No t-shirts, tank-tops, shorts, Bermudas*, tennis shoes or sandals may be worn in air-conditioned restaurants. *Bermudas and beach sandals (not flip flops) can be worn at La Isla, Jojos, Fondue and for Candlelight Dinners.

Resort Casual
Invitations with the term, “resort”, indicates attire that is a cut above very casual clothes. So, avoid jeans, flip flops, camisoles, t-shirts, and short shorts or very short skirts.

Resort wear appropriate for men and women are ‘country club’ type clothing. Since the invitation is for dinner, then evening resort attire for men would be nice slacks, polo shirts, button down shirts, nice shoes or sandals, with the option of wearing a sport coat. For women: nice pants, skorts, skirts, nice top, casual dress, sundress, nice sandals or casual shoes. The length of the skirt or dress is knee length or longer.

Daytime resort attire includes the same clothing suggestions as evening resort plus nice shorts can be worn as well.

The big confusion with "Casual" on an invitation, comes from the fact that there are varying degrees of casual and just one word doesn’t cover it! Often the inviter has something in mind that isn’t properly communicated. "Informal" may mean "casual" to the inviter, but it is not.

Thanks!

Maybe it was on Trip Advisor that I read that ladies could wear sandals to the restaurants, but men could not.
My DH would be wearing khaki's/polo shirt most nights anyway.
As long as I can wear sandals, we'll be fine!

WAIT!  WTF?  The guy "in charge" of counting votes, Jerry, (some call him Mr. Tractor or Pinky), decided  at that point call on his family & friends (not on CTT) to vote and they decided that the Crown was the winner........:wtf:

<snip>

So, hope that helps explain why some of us don't have any warm and fuzzy feelings towards Jerry/Pinky.   And why we always laugh when the words "vote" or "poll" is  said here!!!!!!!  :lmao1:

Yeah, that was pretty rotten.  :nono: I guess it's safe to assume he doesn't come around these parts much now?  :P

I've gotten some preliminary estimates, but I can't get a guaranteed price yet.  The hotel says "before long", but in Mexican time, that could mean six months.

These prices are land only and include transfers, hotel accommodations, hotel tax, housekeeping & bellman gratuities, and transfers.  Rates are per person, double occupancy, and based on a minimum of ten rooms.  These prices are for seven nights, from May 15-22, 2010.

Jacuzzi Jr. Suite  $1275

Oceanview Jacuzzi Jr. Suite $1411

Oceanfront Jacuzzi Jr. Suite $1592

Swimup Jacuzzi Jr. Suite $1723

If you're comparing to the 2009 prices on El Dorado's website, these prices are less than the 2009 prices, and your transfers would be included.  They seem pretty reasonable for a five-star resort.

Those prices look good Rich....right about what I expected with transfers thrown in as well!!  Looks like with 10 rooms we will get a little price break and transfers as  well!!

And its not like  Louisville is an air hub either!  It sucks when your airport is kinda small cause you always get hosed on fares....Thats why I'm so glad the Bay Area has 3 large airports and at least 2 of em have  non stops to Cancun!:proud:
