okay...well, i hope these dates are still a "go" because i just booked flights for me and michael arriving saturday, returning sunday.

i have to iron out some details, but i think it'll be fine.  i wanted to snag the flights while they were available and relatively cheap.

i cld drive, but a one hour flight is much more appealing :big grin:

Well, Fin and I are definitely interested and have started looking at hotel rooms.  We would most likely not stay for the Sunday game, though, but would be able to play the rest of the weekend!:big grin:

It would be great to finally meet (and drank a beer or three with) some of the crazy folks I've been talking to for soooo long!:drink:

well, my first kid plan isn't gonna pan out b/c my friend is out of town that week.  i have emails in to others to see if we can work it out.

i am hopeful...i'm sure something will work out.  it's only for a night (we are flying in sat morning and leaving on sunday afternoon)

chris said hotels are pricey and getting booked up quickly.  to keep costs down, staying just a couple miles away from harbor may be the best bet.  that's fine w/ us.  we'll just cab it over or whatever.  at least we'll all be in the same place, right?

I'm still here, LOL!!!  OKay, as some of you, that have been dealing with this hotel stress know, the weekend of 8/22 probably wasn't the best to choose, but we're going with it.  So, rooms on the harbor for this weekend SUCK, at $400+ per night, and no group space (thanks Yankees!! LOL)  So, we can stay about 8 miles away, save a lot of money, and just shuttle or cab in (not sure but there is probably a Metro close by)  Here are 4 hotels that are 8 miles away, ranging from $129-$140, and I'm trying to see what the group rates would be:

http://www.expedia.com/pub/agent.dll/qscr=dspv/htid=890945

http://www.expedia.com/pub/agent.dll/qscr=dspv/htid=77835

http://www.expedia.com/pub/agent.dll/qscr=dspv/htid=26263

http://www.expedia.com/pub/agent.dll/qscr=dspv/htid=16467

Now, we tried Priceline and we weren't getting anywhere.  I'm up and can't check again for 72 hours, but was up to $100 on a 3 star and got nothing.  So it might be better just to book group space and deal with it.  I'll be driving, so I can do some running around, but the car is going to be parked most of the weekend :drink: We'll have fun wherever we are, but staying on the harbor would end up being close to $1000 for the weekend, and I don't know about you, but I'd rather cruise for that kind of money!!!!

What are your thoughts?

I'm leaning towards the Sheraton or the Embassy Suites.  We have to find out if they have the happy hour, although we are likely not to be there during happy hour, LOL.  They also have free parking, which is nice for those of us driving, plus the airport shuttle for those flying in.  I think it would work out, we'll just take some taxi vans, or slip the shuttle driver some cash and have him take us back and forth :big grin:

Hiya Sweetie pie! My thoughts... I'm MOST interested in getting together and hanging out! Doesn't matter which of the 4 hot spots, but as you mentioned.... one of them might have a Happy Hour! What a nice way to start the weekend! So, name the booking place and we're going to book! Let's all get the same place!  It will be a blast!

Welcome back! You've been missed on the boards!

My thoughts exactly!  We'll have a blast no matter where, but we'll all have more fun if we have more money in our pockets, LOL!!!!!!  I'm going to get the group rates and see what they look like.  Then they will set up our own little website where we can go to book.

I've missed you guys too.  I've been drowning lately!!!!! LOL!!

Now how could I miss a partae like this?!?!?  Especially since true's got me thinking about cold beer and clams on the half shell.  :drink:(:)     I am looking into the logistics now, see if we can make this happen.

OK,  this is a very long link but..... we've stayed here before.   Right now running $159 per night and is within walking distance to the inner harbor/camden yards.  taxi's back are ok if your DH doesn't joke that he wants to go back to Richmond.  If you come on the trip, I'll tell you the tell!  :big grin:
