I hope I am posting this in the right place.

My siblings and I are looking to surprise our grandparens with a cruise for their 50th anniversary.  I have heard the Holland America and Celebrity are better for older couples, better food, cabins, and service.  We would like them to travel in style with good food and entertainment.  Thank you.

Food, I would give Celebrity a slight edge in the main dining room, and in the specialty restaurants where they are available.  HAL's food was the best of any buffet that I have sailed with.

Entertainment, I would give RCI or Carnival the edge, but between Celebrity and HAL, I would give the edge to Celebrity.

Both tend to have older clienteles with HAL being the older of the two.  Both are excellent for adults and not quite so good for families.

What a wonderful and thoughtful gift for your grandparents!  :proud:

I'd give Celebrity a slight edge over HAL overall, but for a 50th anniversary, I think either one would normally be fine, assuming that they both have full mobility.  If not, I'd give the edge to HAL.  I'd suggest taking a good look at the itineraries & prices and seeing which would be better for them.

Since you posted this in the First Time Cruisers thread, am I right that they have never cruised before?  I'm sure they'll wish they hadn't waited so long.
