As it turned out this was the only scheduled stop that we got.  The private Island itself was awesome.  If CTT ever gets it shit together enough to do a member group cruise and HMC is a stop there is a group private hangout that would be a must.  It features and open bar for the day.  Its location is just above the mask and snorkle icon on the linked map.

HMC was a great beach day.  There was plenty to do or not do if you so decided.  We got some chairs on the beach near some darkside friends and played all day.  The tender was the only negative the entire day.  The kids loved it as both ran around the Island with other kids they had met in the kids club on board.   The grill format was similar to other PIs we have been on but none compared to the beach and facilities at HMC.

TW walked up the beach, hung out in hammocks and at the main beach bar as well as our beach chairs.  The beach never seemed crowded.  :loungingsun:

(This is the first cruise we have done that did not feature a "fun day at sea" on the first full day)

hmc is gorgeous.

yes, bama, our group cruise in 2 weeks is going there.  this will be my 3rd time here, and i love it.  the oasis were already taken by a wedding group, but the sinnas managed to snag most, if not all, of the cabanas.;)

ETA:  why was the remainder of the itinerary switched?

:hurricane:hurricane:hurricane

Do you know how many people are allowed in the oasis per day?

The assholes that had it on our day would not let the kids use the water slide even though they were not using it..............................pricks!:upyours:

I forgot to mention that I met Host Graham from the darkside at the sail away!  Only a handful of members showed up but a really good group of people.  We ended up hanging with most of them at one time or another on the ship or during an excursion.

Host Graham would best be described as CC's quiet Moderator at least as far as his post count goes.  He posts very little but has been there forever.  We talked a little darkside behind the scenes.  I even asked about some of your favorites.  Graham seemed to be a very nice guy and had nothing but good things to say about his fellow moderators.   For my money he seems to be the smartest of all the Mods over there because he does much more reading than posting.

He was there hosting a Childrens Hospital Charity Cruise so as much as yall bitch about the hosts over on the BOS thread, let it be known that there is at least one good one over there!:big grin:

ftr, bama, i don't think any of "us" beyotch about the Carnival mods, those are the only ones i know, at least, and they all seem to be good.   i have seen some others note problems with some mods in OTHER forums, but the ccl forum is really pretty good as far as mods go.

now, some of the members in that forum?...well, that's a whole 'nother story, lol.

Well, you never saw us beating up on Host Mir when she was there. Of course, now she's moved on to better things. She's the first mod from CC I ever met face to face and we've been friends ever since. The other was Host Randy from the Carnival board. I've met him about three times or is it four?

Now, you have me hooked on the review. Let's hear more about your eastern itinerary that got changed to a western thanks to that little hurricane named Omar that blew over St. Thomas. ;)

Here you go, Buf

The Crazy Lady

The morning after our fantastic beach day at Half Moon Cay the announcement came! Ladies and Gentleman good morning from the Bridge, This is your Captain speaking. Because Hurricane Omar has decided to meet us tomorrow in San Juan we have decided to change to the following ports of call; Ocho Rios, Jamaica-Grand Cayman and Cozumel, Mexico. I heard a cheer go up for Coz just across the hallway from us and I myself thought even though we had done these ports many times before it beats the hell out of cruising into a Hurricane.

But there were some that did not agree. Many cruisers chose their cruises because of the ports that they want to visit and I understand that. I guess I don't understand why people don't get that Carnival Cruise Lines cannot control the weather. Their obligation in the situation that we were in was one of three options that I saw. They could have turned the ship and headed back to Miami or decide to have 6 sea days in a row or find new ports for us to enjoy and make the best of an unfortunate situation.

The new port options was way better than heading strait into a Hurricane, call me crazy. We left our room just after the news after a brief huddle to regroup and decide on new shore excursions. We walked down to the excursion desk almost to be run over by this crazy bitch in her night gown wrapped in her Carnival robe wearing a full face of face cream. As we approached the desk this lady was screaming at the top of her lungs about what a crappy line Carnival was and her list of demands including a full refund because they could not get her to the ports she was promised! WTF? The staff handled it as well as could be expected but I wanted to tie a rope around her ankles and drag her behind the ship until all the face cream was washed off.

We as Americans have a crappy reputation as travelers around the World because of assholes like this one. We have enough trouble because of alcohol consumption sometimes but this was 9am! I think from now on because of my love for the Canadians I will have a Canadian flag t-shirt on hand to put on if I ever run into a freaking American nut case like this again in my travels!

After a great "Fun Day at Sea" up next as my beloved Jamaica comes into view and I felt the need to take TW back to the cabin for an "adult nap" because I was so excited! !:sheep:

Ohhhh, that poor woman! Not! More like her poor husband. What a piece of work. Hey lady! Read the contract you signed. You wanna go cruising in a hurricane? Take a lifeboat! Dumbass.
