I was surprised how well it worked!  I mentioned your name and he called for a general alarm.  The ship turned toward Jamaica so fast many passengers got whiplash!

I did what I had to do.  I was low on "stash" and needed to get to Couples!:rastabanana:

We got to half moon cay on the first day.  It was a great stop all sunshine!  That evening things got a little choppy on the ship.  It wasn't that bad in fact the sway of the ship compensated for the alcohol I consumed.

The second day was a sea day and they announced in the morning the change to Coz, Jamaica and Grand Cayman.

With everything on that list you focus on the Bears?  What are you gonna tell me next?  You are a "Boomer Sooner" fan and you live in San Fran?:lmao1:

Pre Cruise

We arrived in Ft. Lauderdale the day before our Great Adventure Family Cruise.   We stayed a small resort in Lauderdale by the Sea where TW grew up.   We hung out on the beach and did a tour of our old stomping grounds.  We even went by the Church where we were married.  The kids would have rather been watching paint dry I think but they acted partly interested which was more than I expected.  We had dinner and Josh and I went back to the hotel to watch the Red Sox in the Sports Bar while the girls went to pick up some last minute Cruise items.

The next morning we were off to Miami for the port and the Carnival Triumph.  There were three other ships lined up and thousands of soon to be cruisers trying to get on.  Josh and I dropped off the girls and the luggage and went to return the car.  If anyone is turning in a rental in downtown Miami and need to top off the gas tank……………forget about it.  There is not a gas station anywhere in the area.  We drove around the Downtown area for about an hour before just dropping it and taking the hit for the rental car companies gas gouging  prices!

We caught a cab back to the POM and began the dreaded embark.  We met up with DD and TW and began the process.  I guess start to ship took about one and a half to two hours.  Embarkation is still the worst part of a cruise vacation for me.  There must be a better way to do it!

On Board

Just a few weeks fresh from a facelift the Ship looked fantastic.  She even had a brand new big screen on the pool deck.  It was nice for the ALCS games but not much more.  Most of the time it had some computer generated  background on it.   They did show a few movies, concerts and the games.  Princess does a much better job with their featured MUTTS!  Having an entire area dedicated to the screen works out a lot better.  Watching the ALCS from a Mexican station with just the sounds of the game instead of commentary was really cool but for the most part the screen was useless.  The rest of the ship looked new.

The kids went off to check the kids clubs and I grabbed cold Fosters and headed for the Gym.  I wanted to see it one time while on board and then off to explore the rest of the ship.  The cabin was as expected not much different than on any other line as far as size and set up.  All luggage arrived except for my smuggle suitcase and I expected to be called down for a hand slap for the rest of the night!   I did finally arrive about four hours after the first bags with everything as packed.

Dinner the first night was as good or better than the other lines in comparison.  We actually went to the featured shows last week for the first time in many cruises.  They were not as good as NCLs overall but I was stoned and did not really care.  There was plenty of  Kareoke with a bootleg video taken by one of our group from the dark side.  It should be interesting as I don’t even remember what the songs were?  The Triumph had all of the usual places to hang out on a cruise.  From the Piano Bar to the “Thump Thump” club it  is all about the same on any ship on any line.  The only cruise line that stands out as different is RCCL with all of the above plus the rock wall, Ice rink, etc!

Day 1-  Half Moon Cay

http://www.carnival.com/cms/Static_Templates/halfMoonCay/html/index.aspx

As it turned out this was the only scheduled stop that we got.  The private Island itself was awesome.  If CTT ever gets it shit together enough to do a member group cruise and HMC is a stop there is a group private hangout that would be a must.  It features and open bar for the day.  Its location is just above the mask and snorkle icon on the linked map.

HMC was a great beach day.  There was plenty to do or not do if you so decided.  We got some chairs on the beach near some darkside friends and played all day.  The tender was the only negative the entire day.  The kids loved it as both ran around the Island with other kids they had met in the kids club on board.   The grill format was similar to other PIs we have been on but none compared to the beach and facilities at HMC.

TW walked up the beach, hung out in hammocks and at the main beach bar as well as our beach chairs.  The beach never seemed crowded.  :loungingsun:

(This is the first cruise we have done that did not feature a "fun day at sea" on the first full day)

hmc is gorgeous.

yes, bama, our group cruise in 2 weeks is going there.  this will be my 3rd time there, and i love it.  the oasis were already taken by a wedding group, but the sinnas managed to snag most, if not all, of the cabanas.;)

ETA:  why was the remainder of the itinerary switched?
