| Thanks Bama! I'm glad to see you don't have to be a Carnival fan to enjoy the line. We've sailed on Carnival four times along with two each on Princess and RCI. Never had a bad cruise on any of them.

Great story, where is the rest?? I hear you about Carnival. TW wasnt crazy about it, I think cause it was spring break. We wont do that again. But when you can roll on a cooler with 9 bottles of wine, couple bottles of Jose's best its a good day. We really enjoyed the food in the dinning room but I hate being told when to eat.
I would take a week on the Minnow if I didnt have to work!

After the muster drill we dropped off our lifejackets and headed for the meet and greet on the back of the ship.
We were to meet a small group from the CC roll call as planned on the board. You never really know what to expect when you meet these “internet” people. What kind of people actually get on the web to try and meet strangers on or off a cruise? 9 times out of 10 these people are gonna be losers with a capital “L”. If you remember this is how I met both Mr. Tractor and Planersedge, enough said!
As I mentioned before we were to meet a Rock Star (TallyRockChick), a Freelance writer (connerzgram), a Bama Fan (Wolfeman) and a pair of Cruise Junkies (Cruisejunkies). .
As it turns out they were a great group of cruisers. We had encounters with all of them throughout the trip. We hung out with Brandy and Company both at Costa Maya and on Paradise Beach. We saw a lot of Wolfeman on the Sea days around the pool. Connersgram was a regular In the Clubs at night. We got to spend some time with the Cruise Junkies in the evenings as well.
We had an excellent dinner the first night. The wait staff was fantastic and made sure we hade everything we needed. The kids loved the attention and so did we. The filet mignon was as good in Carnival regular dinning room as the ones served in NCLs specialty restaurants. The food was excellent every night with the exception of the escargot.
The Kids had already begun “Operation Got Milk” and they were “pumped”. Jen (princess mini milk), Josh (swift utter), Greg (balls of the Bull), TW (mother utter) and me (Mad Cow) were ready to bring the largest haul of milk to Tom that one family ever had. We ended up with about 30 cartons of milk. Jen wore room service out enough that they started to ask questions. There was milk on ice all over their cabin. I think they thought the kids were washing in the stuff.
The first day at sea was a blast. I enjoy sea days as much as getting of the Ship. Carnival had many activities to keep any busy that wanted to be. The food was great all day long. We went to the Broadway style show and it was about what you would see on any other cruise. It’s got to the point where we rarely go anymore. There was a fun piano bar, the guy was not great but it’s was a good place to hang out and get a drink. We also did Karaoke waiting for Brandy to show and sing but I think she crashed early that night. There was a Hold ‘em tournament going on, A couple of good bands and the “Thump Thump” club got started at about 11pm. So there was plenty to do for such a small ship. The kids were doing their Club Carnival thing and we hardly saw them after dinner. I also made my usual one time donation to the casino never to return. Rene had at least one good night there but I’m not sure how she ended up overall.

i so wish i had done paradise beach and participated in "operation got milk"! but it was still so much fun! i'm working (slowly) on my review - it seems to be beer thirty a lot now that my book contract is complete!
and yes, bama, i had a very good night in the casino at least for me - spent $50 and walked away with more than that! much more! the blackjack gods were with me as was my trusty Miller Lite!
uh oh, beer thirty!

| Ahhh, yes! "Those internet people". That's what my mother calls them too. Oh wait, I'm one of them! LOL We've usually had pretty good luck meeting people from our roll calls and finding at least one or two couples that we enjoyed spending some time with throughout the cruise.

I never actually saw Brandys butt but I did have to cover Joshs' ears a couple of times because of an "F" bomb or two!
I was ready for it because I knew she was a rock star!

yeah, sorry bout that. its when Im drunk the most...Im normally really good with watching my mouth with kids. But he's older...he knows what its all about. But yea, we did have to say earmuffs a couple times although it was too late as I had already dropped the bombs. Then I asked Greg the next time I saw him where "earmuffs" was.

Our first stop was Costa Maya. We love this port but it sure has changed over the years. The first time we stopped there Maujual was a true fishing village and you could eat lobster and drink all day for about 30 dollars US. Not any more! The entire pier area is built up with the official shops and the village itself has become a new place. There is some very colorful FOMT history in Costa Maya. It is the place where mrtractor was detained and probed by Mexican authorities and also the place where I almost tipped over a golf cart going about 30 mph, which would have maimed my entire family. I would have been fine however because I would have landed on my mother-in –law.
We got of the fantasy and I headed strait for the Bar by the big swimming pool for some of the best margaritas in Mexico. They will set you back about 7 dollars but are worth it. We set up Bama central at a table outside of the bar/restaurant. I sat there and had a couple of margaritas as everyone went in different directions to shop. The waiter was great and the margaritas were perfect. The family would stop by from time to time to drop off their Mexican prize possessions and I just sat there and did what I like to do most while on vacation in Mexico………….nothing!.
After and hour or two it was time to get a golf cart, get away from the cruise constructed Mexican theme park and head to Majuahal. I had flashbacks of the day I almost killed my family as we walked up to the cart hut. I also thought I might not get a cart if the guy remembered me from that day. I actually almost dumped the cart in the parking lot that day in front of the entire staff. I got cussed out by about 4 of them not only for almost dumping the cart but also for having it overloaded.
As it turns out Majuahal has changed (as it has every time we have been there) you can’t even drive the golf carts down main street anymore. You have to park them on a back street and walk to the beach. It sucks but it’s still better than a cab. I have boycotted the taxis in Costa Maya since the cabbie tried to rip FOMT off after our school mission a few years ago.
We ended up at a table on the beach and were joined by Brandy and company for a couple of hours of tropical vacation relaxation. Majual is still a great place to get a beer and just relax on the beach.
There were a couple of things that stand out on the beach at Majuahal. The first ting was an international incident where this idiot brought a rented jet ski across the top of the coral reef heads instead of going around the marked route. The Mexican police were called in because the guy didn’t think he should be responsible for the damage to the Jet Ski. The drama went on for about 30 minutes with the Mexican police involved. The hero almost went to jail over a 100-dollar deposit. I think the entire incident could be entitled the ugly American. I was embarrassed for the country. The moral to the story is if you see coral reef heads sticking out of the water while on a jet ski don’t freaking drive over them you dumb ass!
The other thing that happened on the beach can only be described as “The Thong”! Brandy saw and decided to point out a lady in a total thong that is now engraved in my memory forever. I almost threw up in my mouth a little!
The following is a public service announcement.
Note to everyone who has put on or plans to put on a thong. My guess is you are wearing it because you want to look “HOT”! Please take my advice here. If you put it on, turn around and look in the mirror even if you need help, ask someone for his or her honest opinion. It you do not see the “HOT” effect you are looking for please COVER YOUR ASS UP! If you can lay on your stomach, put a small toy boat on your ass and if it looks like the boat is actually in motion please for the love of all that is good put something else on.
It was time to head back to the ship. We got the golf cart back without incident. Greg got a bottle of absinth, which we shared with some of the CC group back in Costa Maya.

| We loved this port! Nothing like just sitting out in the water and have someone bring you bucket after bucket of beer. Watching idiots on jetskis and golf carts while peeing in the ocean.... Aren't memories precious.

AWESOME BAMA!
Costa Maya was my fave part of the trip. Thank GOD we saw Greg or we would not have been able to experience the golf carts, the bumpy road on the way to Mahajual, the bar with the swings, the bucket of 6 beers for $10, the federales, the THONG and its white cheesy ass, and the Mexican dude offering us something "else" to put into the cigars.
Plus, Lex got his sombrero from a busted Mexican lady with her belly hanging out. She picked it out for him...AZUL AZUL she said. It really did bring out the color of his eyes. Crazy Mexican ladies know whats with when it comes to sombreros.
Keep it coming brotha!

I forgot about the sombrero! How could I forget that? And don't forget about the public restroom with the kids yelling at you.
Josh and Greg had an interesting moment with one of the shopkeepers that had just got out of prison. I'll let Josh post about it if he wants to.
