We don't have Total Wine around here...it sounds like a great store... there are a couple pretty well stocked stores on the way home though.  Hopefully one of them will have it.

Be sure to give us a review :roflmao:

On topic, Bare Knuckle Stout is produced by A-B and is sold only in certain areas.  The only place I know that sells it is Busch Gardens Williamsburg, and the Richmond area, and only on draught.  It is similar to Guinness, and truly the best thing A-B has EVER produced!

You guys have Total Wine too?  Must be the same chain, although I bet the one we have here in Chantilly is better.  I have my own personal beer guy that hooks me up with the latest, like the Santo Palo, which is all but gone.  I just got the Bell's Expedition stout.  Had one bottle but gonna age the others.  Review at 11. :big grin: :drink:

Just googled Total Wine. There are 4 in NJ but none by me:(:(:( Sounds like a good place. I've lived here for almost a year now and am yet to find a really GREAT beer/liquor store.

Coincidentally, somebody just asked about that, and I am curious as well.  A co-worker tried it and said it was ok, but she was expecting more hops.
Please let us know what you think of it!

You lucky girl:big grin: You've managed to find an awesome beer store and a hot guy all in one stop:P And to think, I can't even find a decent liquor store around here:confused:

I lived in Raleigh back in the late 90's. Fun town. I recall there were a few good beer bars in the vicinity of the 42nd St Oyster bar that we used to hang out at.

I think we have a high population of alcoholics :lmao1: LOL!!!!!

There are STILL great bars down around 42nd (which is a great bar too!!!)... More than ever.   Got some great irish pubs down there, and many beer bars... it's a beer lovers haven!!!  Let me know if you ever find yourself down this way!!  But I have to know... you moved from Raleigh to Jersey?  You never see that happen!!!!

I tried some last night. It was decent. Poured nicely. Amber color. Thick creamy head. Hint of sweetness. Hops were slightly evident. Not overwhelming. I don't like real hoppy beer so this was okay with me. Reminded me of a typical Amber ale that you would get at your local brewery. Not bad. Worth a try:big grin:

LOL! Long story short. DH and I are both from NJ originally. After college, he was in the Army for 8 years. We moved around a lot! I moved down to Raleigh after I finished college to be closer to him while he was stationed at Ft Bragg. One of my college roommates moved down with me. I got a teaching job and she went to grad school at UNC. We were in NC for 3 years and had a blast!!!! After NC, we spent 2 years in Alabama, 2 years in upstate NY, and 4 years in Orange County NY. Last summer, DH got an offer he couldn't refuse from a company in NJ so we made the decision to move back:big grin:

What is the name of the Brewery right across the street from the Oyster Bar??? They had really good food and a small dance floor area. My friend and I have been racking our brains trying to remember the name of that place!!!!!

Hey, what's wrong with Jersey?  Some really cool people come from there. :P

Plus, my beer guy may not be hot, but he knows his chit.  Sorry to hear about the A-B ale.  I kinda expected it to be nothing special anyway, but I am gonna have to give it a try, just to say I tried it.

Kerry, did you guys try Bittings yet? (http://www.njbrewpubs.com).  Get the steak sandwich if you are going to eat there.  It is all I ever get, cause the food can be hit or miss.  Also, ask for chips and salsa - they will only provide it on request.

Cheers!

Well that makes sense!  Generally once people are here they don't move back north except for situations like that! LOL!

You are probably talking about Southend Brewery?  That place was GREAT!  Sadly, it closed a couple of years ago :(  Greenshields closed too.... There are still plenty of great bars in the Powerhouse Square and City Market areas... but I do miss Southend...

I have a beer guy too... and he's hot...  I only go hoping I can corner him in the beer room one of these days :lmao1:

You lucky girl:big grin: You've managed to find an awesome beer store and a hot guy all in one stop:P And to think, I can't even find a decent liquor store around here:confused:

I lived in Raleigh back in the late 90's. Fun town. I recall there were a few good beer bars in the vicinity of the 42nd St Oyster bar that we used to hang out at.

But I have to know... you moved from Raleigh to Jersey?  You never see that happen!!!!

Southend. . .YES, that was the one! We've been trying to remember the name of that place for months now! Is Re Ra's still there??? One of my husband's best friends (our best man) met his future wife there one night when we were all hanging out! She and I were just reminiscing about that!

Plus, my beer guy may not be hot, but he knows his chit.  Sorry to hear about the A-B ale.  I kinda expected it to be nothing special anyway, but I am gonna have to give it a tr
