InBev ( the Belgian Brewer ) is putting the heat on Budweiser to accept its offer of a $65 a share buyout./
Is this the end of another great American Icon ..... will we soon be seeing Belgian Frogs replacing Bud Weis and Er will Belgian Horses be playing soccer in place of the Clydesdales playing football in those Super Bowl Spots will the Belgian Malinois be riding the beer wagon in place of the Dalmation
This is a true sign that America is for sale now if I was a large stockholder that would be well ..... different

I can one up you on that one, Cappy. Much of our American military family housing is now owned by a British company. In discussion of the merger with our post commanding general, that was my reaction exactly... I might feel slightly different if I were a stockholder in the company that was bought out... but then again... NAH.

Okay, Cappy, I've been puzzling over this for over an hour: How is they buyout of American companies linked to 9/11? I might be able to understand that in some circumstances -- e.g., companies that took a direct economic hit as a result of 9/11 and haven't been able to regroup but still holding promise, thereby becoming an attractive financial target -- but in all cases?

I just hate it when American companies sell out to foreign interests! I also heard that Bollywood (India's growing film industry) is trying to buy out Dreamworks! Ugh!

As of today, Anheuser Busch is rejecting the offer.

Ugh. With all due respect to the Bud lovers out there, I refer to it as "American Piss Water." I'll take a good ale or bock anytime.

Naw-give me Miller Light! Although I must admit that Bud's new lime-flavored beer is much better than Miller's Chill. . .
