Judy -

I've been to Disney for Christmas and it was lovely.  The decorations and stuff are great.  We did the "special" nightime pass (extra charge) and going into the park after it had closed for the day and seeing it at night was wonderful.

Also, did the Candlelight at Epcot.  Truly amazing to be there.  We did the dinner/combo so we had reserved seating.  Robert Ulrich was our reader that night.  It was fantastic.

I think you would enjoy it a lot (but, it was pretty crowded during the days).

Spent most of night reading the Disney Boards. Thanks Grace;)I have gone on them before but of course now that I need them I forgot .

The one thing I can say that for the 300 in Nick you are getting a three room suite .Three tv's one being a nice flatscreen :big grin:Some of these rooms are small but wnen I think about it we spent very little time in the room .No need for the micro and kitchen area .

I think The Hilton has a nice room but yet I read some nice reviews on the Disney Port Orleans .The Frenchside has the pool that the kids would just love and it is a short bus ride to DTD .The riverside is much bigger but seems everything is a walk and the pool is so so.The rooms not so great but I am trying to stay close to DTD. The Gaylord is huge and beautiful Price is about the same but I just think it is so confusing and big .They have so many things to see .

I need to go over this with Joe .I don't think he is going to like the Disney rooms .

Grace I am going to check the airfares next .Booking the Hilton through  Mousesavers they give you one free kids meal a day .I haven't compared rates yet.

You know what I wish I was doing .GOING ON A CRUISE. Just let us have one day to go to Wrestlemania and I wouldn't care if I just stayed at sea for the week.

Good morning fools.

Lee, mousesavers is the best site, sign up for their e-mails. As you get special deals through their e-mails. I know what you mean about the cruise. We try to do a few days Disney before and after when we do a cruise out of Fl. What's even better was the Disney cruise :big grin: I would love to do that again, I loved the two we were on but they were only 3-4 days.

Heidi I love Disney at Christmas time we went to the Candlelight dinner package on Christmas Day and it really was special. We also did the lights at night. I loved the Gingerbread house. It's just something you have to do once. We were there in 2001 for Christmas.

Have agreat day

Morning, morning, morning to all :big grin:

style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #c6e1d7"Nice out now, but rain is supposedly coming. That's ok since all we have planned is carrying stuff up to the attic.

style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #c6e1d7"Looks like HAL is starting to post the shore excursions for our cruise :big grin:. So far they show Oslo, Halifax, and Sydney. Unfortunately we're planning on doing all three of those ports on our own (unless we do the Breton Trail one out of Sydney). I'm leaving wedding planning stuff to Teresa and I'll handle the cruise. My son expects me to wear a tuxedo for the wedding and I am not looking forward to that. I wore a suit to my MIL's funeral, which was the first time I have worn a suit in five years :P. If I have to wear anything, it's a sport coat and tie.

style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #c6e1d7"All the Disney talk makes me jealous. Maybe we'll think about it next year. Teresa is thinking she would like to take DS and his wife on a cruise then though. We'll see.

style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #c6e1d7"Everyone enjoy your day.

You might want to double check availability at the various hotels you are thinking about booking BEFORE talking to Joe. ;)  Wouldn't want him to decide on the ONE that is sold out for at least one of your nights!! :shoot me:  Only give him options that are available.  Yes, I'm speaking from experience... (not about hotels). :big grin:

Hello

Al wear the Tux .If your boy wants you all spiffied up do it .It is his day and it is once in a lifetime:eyeroll:Plus I bet you will look soooo handsome:smiley:

I think Teresa is right a cruise with the kids .Disney will always be there:smiley:

You must be getting so excited with your cruise coming up.I am Jealous.

I think I am getting closer to airfare .If we leave from Newark:flamin: and stay till the 1st (fine by me I never like to end a vacation)It is about 1100 still high .I can wait till the week before to book it because if I don't see any cheaper we will just drive.Anything under a 1000 maybe .It is killing me to spend this money on air.

Hilton at Walt Disney World will most likely be the Hotel. A room in the Towers with a view of Downtown Disney   is still less than Nick and much much Nicer .The Towers will give us access to many nice amenities .Or we could just do a regular not Towers but same room and view. Decisions decisions.

Now I see that Seaworld will have Aquatica open March 1st .Never heard about it but boy it is a water park like I have never seen .You go down tubes and end up in the water still in the tube with Dolphins swimming around you . You are surrounded by different fish and sea life .Check it out the website has the artistic drawings. I also see you can rent a cabana but Can't find out where they are located on the premises. They do say as of March 1st they will open but who knows .I really would love to spend the day there.

And thats about it .I feel asleep sitting up on Joseph's bed trying to wake him up .TIRED.Good thing I woke up or we still would all be sleeping:dangit:

  LOVE Disney at Christmas!!!  But a few weeks before, not the week of - the best week, I think is the week AFTER Thanksgiving.  The decorations are up, the weather is nice, and the crowds are lighter.  And you still have plenty of time to get ready for Christmas when you get home.

Last time we went that time of year was 2001, too!  Well, what do you know?  We are all in sync. :big grin:  That's the only time, Sam wants to go again.  The fake snow at the MK is fun.

My personal favorite time to go (besides Christmas) is in the fall during the Food and Wine Festival at Epcot.  The weather is really nice and the crowds are light.  But it won't be happening again with the kids in school, unless I go without them! :lmao1:

Judy - the week after Christmas is good too.  Crowded for the first few days but it dies down towards the end of the week - and the decorations are still up for about a week, I think.

Hi Grace

As of this morning it is available .I also see that if I do the no refund reservation pd in full I save more but if we do the MOU Savers with the free meal I think I am paying the extra for the meal. Only thing is we could cancel but if we cancelled I would be out much more money than just the room .The tickets for wrestlemania were 500

I'm telling you if I add up all my expenses for this trip I for sure could have taken a cruise that week:flamin:

Hi Lee,  hope you get some rest tonight.  You were probably up late reading the Disboards, weren't  you?  ;)  There are lots of insomiacs over there - lol.

Sounds like the Florida trip is coming together and you need a cruise to recover.  Maybe next time, plan a cruise leaving from Florida when you have to go down anyways.  Hmmm, how would Mom feel about recovering from surgery on a cruise ship?  See? Always thinking and working the angles for another vacation!! :big grin:

When I got married, I asked my Dad if he would dance at my wedding.  NEVER saw him dance in my life.

His answer?  Bad Chinese phonics ahead... Taw Wu?!! (Dance)  Taw Luo!!! (Jump off a building!)

He did dance at my wedding!!  It was the sweetest thing. :flowers:

My Dell Lap Top Update....

I have to laugh, Dell called a few days ago and asked if I would like a no cost upgrade to "Over Night Shipping". I said, "OF COURSE...!!!"

So, I just got a phone call from a Dell rep who said, "Your Dell has been shipped, but, it has NOT left the property yet, the truck is still being packed. So, you should receive the computer by MONDAY.":wtf:

I asked, "What about the overnight shipping..???" He said, "Oh, they DON'T deliver on the weekend."

You gotta laugh......:eyeroll: :bunny:

All this Disney talk almost makes me want to take a trip there.  My brother has the vacation club, so I wouldn't have to pay for hotels.

Lee have you looked into the Doubletree Suites?  I think there is one right across from DTD.  Also, where my brother has the vacation club is Old Key West Resort.  They have buses that run all the time to all different places.  They also have a boat launch to take you to DTD.  They have studios (like a regular hotel room, 1 bedrooms - with a pullout couch, and two bedrooms).  We have loved it everytime we stayed there.

I just got an email from one of my cousins (I have a lot of them) in Ft. Myers this morning.  He is getting married on April 5th.  I may just want to jump on a plane and make a weekend trip for Larry and I and attend the wedding.  It is kind of special as my cousin lost his wife 3 years ago to Breast Cancer.  She was a very sweet person and is sorely missed.  I hear that the new bride-to-be is someone special too.  I have spoken to her on the phone, but, I can't wait to meet her.

Al, you will appreciate wearing a tuxedo after you see the wedding pictures and everyone looks so nice.  By then you will forget how much you didn't want to wear one and know how happy you are that you did.

Me too. We had dinner with Shamu and I remember Jennifer not wanting to eat thinking that Shamu was going to jump up and take it .I have many pictures but none on the computer I guess we were there maybe three years ago in the summer because it was so hot that when we went to the show and got wet it was a relief .

It figures but you really should have gotten it tomorrow Friday isn't the weekend

If this was Joe and he was waiting on something he would have told them I don't care if you have to drive yourself you better have it here. He is just terrible when he is waiting for something to be delivered.

Me too Lee.  I would have them shaking that they would want to get rid of me and ship it!!!!  I have no patience.

I talked my boss into buying a Keurig for the office.  It came today.  I am so excited, now I can have tea and Hot Chocolate when I want.

I won't be around for chat tonight.  I am going to my first knitting class.  Larry is going to come with me, but, he is going to do "library stuff" for the 2 hours that I am there.

Larry's Dad was taken by ambulance last night to the hospital.  I don't have any idea what is going on yet though.  I called his Mom this morning to check in and she didn't know anything either.  My BIL told me that his white cell count is up, but, that could mean so many things.  Hopefully I will find out more later.  I am glad that they finally got real with all of this and called the ambulance.  Him wasting away in bed 24/7 and not eating should have been the first sign that something was wrong.

Enjoy the rest of your day.

We were booked on the Gem or Pearl I even forgot .I do remember that the cruise itself was cancelled by NCL but we cancelled  when we booked the Crown .We figured since we were taking the cruise alone that a trip just for the kids would be nice .As much as they love going on cruises they also want and need to see other things.Like a big MOUSE.Right Grace everyone needs to visit the Mouse:big grin:         .Joe thinks now that Joseph is older he may enjoy everything which in turn will let us enjoy too. Disney is not Joe's favorite place :tomatoes:

Yeeeeeeessss!!!

Come and hang out with me!!  We can go out to eat at all the nice resturants!!  I'm going to be making my dining reservations soon.  Thinking of going to Chefs de France this trip - haven't been there in years.

Looove the Shamu picture!  We really have to wander off Disney property and hit SeaWorld and Universal soon.  Maybe in August.

Al - Your son and, more importantly, his new bride, will appreciate it.

For our wedding, my Dad even wore a tux.  As a matter of fact, he insisted on it last year.  He said, "Well, at least if you're going to get the marriage right this time, the least I can do is wear a tuxedo and look the part".  :roflmao:  He's too funny!  Mom and I were laughing for months over it.  But, once the pix came out, everyone admitted it was the right thing.  Great memories for all of us to see him decked out like that.  (Plus, good blackmail when I see him - "don't annoy me or I'll make you wear a tuxedo!")  :big grin:  He liked the tux acutally, the shoes were annoying though.
