Hi all

I have been too busy these days at work. A month before I go on vacation, I have too much work to do. So many reports, and booking my day out with too many clients. It seems everyone has a crisis and has to be seen a lot before I leave.

Last night I went out with my staff for a wonderful supper. It was fun and we laugh so much. I have to catch up with all the post and see what everyone is doing.

Charlie nice to see you posting again. Miss your humor.

Have to go and write up an assessment.

Talk later

Morning .

We should start a late night can't sleep club .

It was after 2 when I fell asleep.I started playing around with i-tunes and syncing music and I have 15 songs that the files are gone .Song is there but where is it  and how did it happen.I knew if I put the new songs on I would just mess everything up because I did it earlier for Joseph when I put the Alvin album on .Very cute He loved the movie and knows all the songs. He is missing I think 11.

I just don't know how to find them but I tried .Joe wil do it for me tonight .

Joe is on his way to New York for a doctors appt so I hope he gets home early.

Sun is shining between the rain :big grin:. At least it's not between the snow. This is the anniversary of the blizzard of 1996. I remember we got over 25 inches of snow in that one. They are warning of the possiblity of a coastal snowstorm Sunday-Monday.

The tree is standing here with no ornaments or tinsel. Soon the lights will be gone and by suppertime, it will be out in the back awaiting delivery to the wildlife sanctuary. That's where they take our trees.

We just lost our internet connection :flamin:. This happened a couple of times yesterday. Very annoying. I guess I'll just stay here and try to send this when it comes back on.

It's back :P

Good Morning

I went to bed around 3 and fell asleep.  Thank Goodness.

I am definately coming down with something and I truly hope that it isn't a Sinus Infection, but, I think it is.  I called the Dr. and I am going there at 12:30.  I am just afraid that if I am infected and I don't get the Z-Pac that I will be miserable for longer than I really want to be.  Been eating lots of Oranges lately, so I definately have the Vitamin C thing going on.

Ok, off to do one of the last Bank Reconciliations for 2007.  I have everything organized at the office for the Accountant....he just needs to show up now.

Have a good day.  Will check in later.

Good Morning Everyone!

We just had really bad fog banks roll through this morning and the Wind Advisories are posted; but the sun peeks through the clouds every so often.  I knew the weather was too good to last.

Sounds like everyone is busy taking down Christmas decorations.  I haven't even started.  Well, our friends didn't get to come over during the holidays because I was working the whole time, so the rounds of "visits" will start on Sunday afternoon.  I guess I can start to dismantle some of the stuff next weekend in between studying for license renewal tests that I need done before February 1st.  :shoot me:  Thank goodness I didn't put too much up for decorations this year; otherwise it would be brutal.

Have a great day!

Lee,

Can you believe that after 20+ trips to WDW, I have NEVER been to Disney Quest?!!!   My girls were always too young and not interested enough to play video games (at least by themselves) to justify the cost.  For example, we have the Wii and the Playstation at our house.  How many hours have they been played with in the last MONTH? Zip, nada, ZERO!!  We do enjoy the Wii though - but we all have to play as a family otherwise the girls don't want to play - and when do we have time for that? :shoot me:  Last time was around Thanksgiving, I think.

That being said, my cousins ranging in ages of 8 to 18, who also go multiple times a year, LOVE DisneyQuest.  My aunt bought her boys (14 and 15, I think) annual passes to DQ.  I think Joseph will really LOVE it.

I may take the girls to DQ for the first time in August when our annual passes to the parks expire.  Or we may take the opportunity to go to Universal for the first time since before the kids were born.  Haven't decided yet.

The Lego store at DTD is really fun.  They have a lot of different playsets for sale there - all the Star Wars themed ones, I heard.  They also have a fill-a-bucket for a set price deal (no people included).  We are going to do that next trip.  There is a play area for the kids to just build Legos until they get tired.

OMG, you pay $300/night for the NICK?!!!! :vomit:  ALthough, I guess, it is expensive EVERYWHERE for Easter Week.  I'm use to going when it is cheaper and less crowded.  For $300/night I would want to stay IN Disney, or at least in a 2 bdrm/2 bath condo nearby (the Marriotts and Hiltons have very nice timeshare condos).  Heck, you can even rent a whole vacation house with your own pool!

The DTD hotels are o'kay but I don't know if there is anything special about them except the proximaty to DTD.  They are not owned by Disney.  Other hotels not owned by Disney but on-site are the Swan and Dolphin Resorts near Epcot.  Oh, I did hear that the Gaylord Palms is a VERY nice resort, some say much better than any Disney resort, with the best spa in town.

Here is a website to help you find discounts for hotels and car rentals.  http://www.mousesavers.com/   There are some very nice hotels and resorts nearby Disney.  Although, it may be late in the game for any real savings for that time period.  You may just have to pay rack rates at this point.  But you never know!

Other things to consider are priceline and hotwire.  I have used them to bid or purchase "blind" in the past with much success (at non-WDW areas) - got much nicer resorts than I otherwise would have booked on my own.  But do your research first!!!  I never bid or buy less then 4 stars (3 stars in Miami) just to be safe.  Check out http://www.biddingfortravel.com and http://www.betterbidding.com BEFORE you try to use those sites to get a room.  If you HAVE to know where you will be staying than, this route may not be for you.

Be prepared that Easter week will definitely be crowded and expensive there and everywhere.  Lee, I have to tell you that as much as I LOVE WDW, and you know that I LOVE WDW, I would not go near the place that week unless it was free and I had a big bottle of Motrin! :holymoly:  Just be prepared for crowds, lots of people watching, and not getting too many paid activities (like rides) done.  A great time to just kick back and hang by the resort pool.

And missy - did you purchase your airfare yet?!!  For a woman who books her cruises a year or more out, you really do wait until the last minute to book your land vacations!! :nono: :lmao1:

Lee, if you didn't buy your arifare yet, a quick check on kayak tells me these lowest prices:

Outbound: 3/15/08 weekend, non-stop only

Lowest fare $100/pp OW on Continental

Multiple flights on Sat and Sun from EWR to TPA

Return: 3/22/08 weekend, non-stop only

Lowest fare $100/pp OW on Continental, Friday 3/21/08 only, MCO to EWR

Lowest fare $113/pp OW on Delta, Sat 3/22/08, MCO to LGA

Around $150/99 OW on Sun 3/23/08.

Thanks Grace

I know it will be bad .We have done it more than once .Last year we were there and just stayed at the hotel. The year before that I think was just Universal for the day off the ship .The year before that was a few days at Disney and we stayed on site and for the life of me I can't remember .I will look later and it will come to me. All the other times were in the summer  .Never been there off times .Universal was the worse

The plan is a few days in Tampa and then on Wed or Thurs drive over to Orlando.I want a hotel that we will want to hangout during the day and then do things after.Downtown Disney was being talked about on here Mr.Pete asked about it and after looking into it I thought this is right up Joseph's alley. Jennifer looked at it last night and she really wants to go.No plans to spend any full day at any park.I would do Downtown .Shopping EATING and entertainment .Perfect;) I would like to go to seaworld again I love Seaworld

Sunday is Wrestlemania so that day is just for that .I am hoping that by Saturday they all start heading home .Sunday for sure:big grin:Need a hotel with a nice pool ,slides etc.Like Nick:shock:but no sliming :P

I think the Port New Orleans french side looked good.I also like the Hilton .Both are better priced than Nick  .I think once Joseph sees the video games he can play at Quest the arcade at the Nick Hotel will look like a joke. What we spend on one night in the arcade is admission to Quest:shoot me:

No air yet .Just waiting .At this point we are so use to driving that it makes no difference. I don't care. Then we don't have the expense of renting a car .Flying between the air and the rental is going to expensive.

We've been to Disney Quest.  The last time we were there the boys went EVERY NIGHT and stayed until closing.  (Admission was included with the type of pass we had).  Dennis and I got sick of going so we just let the boys take the bus over alone.  Denny was in high school by this point.

The stuff there was outrageously cool.  This was eight years ago so I can only imagine how advanced the stuff they have now must be.

Well, we no longer have a Christmasy house. Tree is out back, floor is cleaned of the three million needles, and furniture returned to its normal place. All that's left is toting boxes to the attic and that will be tomorrow's task.

I second the thumbs up on DQ. Along with the regular arcade type games, they had a couple of virtual reality (wear helmet) type things, and when we were there (a while back) one where you could design a roller coaster on the compter and then get in a cage thing and actually get a virtual ride on your coaster.

Lee,

For those days, you have a choice of airlines and airports for $110/pp each way.  Not too bad.  Or you could DRIVE!!

We must have driven at least a dozen times over the years.  Sometimes straight through - mostly on the way home though - something about being able to sleep in our own beds that night.

Last times was in 2004, I think.   With the gas prices so high though and airfare still reasonable (under $225/pp), the cost savings, if any, are not worth the efforts anymore for our family.

Lee, We've also been to DQ was part of our ticket, we're not into the games but boy did they have them if you were. Joseph will love it. I love DD, Pleasure Island and Comedy Warehouse, love them!

We're trying ;) to get our dates for this year :shoot me: I need to confirm my timeshare.

We are having such an hard time, the weeks I can take off he can't and then the week he can I can't :nono: So we're actually thinking of the week after Christmas, no buses on the road then. I've been there the week of Christmas when it fell on a Wednesday but never after. What do you think Grace???? We don't really care about the rides so much, I like the Christmas stuff. :big grin: The family we are going with likes then rides.

We're still trying to get it together for Oct. I'm hoping:praying:

Grace when should I start looking for airfare? I like to book it in advance, we drove once that was enough.:holymoly: With just the two of us it cheaper to fly, get a rental car through priceline I always do.

I wish I could get a quick getaway in to Disney this spring but it's not going tom happen.

Good luck with planning.
