Kathy, are you scheduled to get any of the warmth we are going to have later this week?

I see there are shore excursions posted for Halifax and Sydney on our cruise. I'm still leaning to doing these ports on our own since we have been to both of them before. We rented a DVD titled Shattered City: The Halifax Explosion about a munitions ship that exploded in the harbor during WW I. We had learned about it on a visit there before. The movie was excellent if anyone is interested. I think it was originally a Canadian Broadcasting Service miniseries.

Not a big fan of Sydney but we really love Halifax. When are you going Al? We usually go down a couple times a year on buisness, maybe we could meet up for a nice dark ale if the timings right. ;)

SJ, any timeshare plans for 2008-2009?

I just paid my maintenance fees which always get me thinking about where we are going to go and got thinking about you and Thomas and your timeshare.

I have 2007 week banked and now 2008. We are going to Disney with friends but might need to change the week I own as it's the first full week in Nov. and that really isn't a good week for me work wise, as the first Thursday in Nov. is emergency evacuation day in Ulster Couty.

I'm also thinking of a week somewhere tropical :big grin: Hey single digits will get anyone thinking tropical.:P

Good night all   :outtahere:

SJ, our best wishes out to Joanne.

No warming here yet, it's 24 :finger:. But they say it's coming next week.

Pulling the window candles out today and maybe some more assorted things. We plan to have the tree out back for collection by a week from Tuesday.

Paul, we are scheduled to be in Halifax from 8-5 on Wednesday, August 27. We've done Peggy's Cove and the Titanic cemetary thing, so may just go into town on our own. Hal and Geri are going with us, so we'll have to discuss it. We'd love to join you for a cold one.

Morning my Friends

Crisp day out today .I am going to do some more un-decorating today:(I would like to just have the tree and outside left. We will see .Have a cub scout sleep-in tonight .Joseph said he is not sleeping there but to pack everything anyway:shoot me:He didn't stay last year but none of the little ones did .This year I know they are so we will see what happens .If I go and they decide to stay I will just go back and get them after church tomorrow  Joe was told to make rice balls again Seems they were a hit last year .They are very good ;)

They eat dinner watch the pine wood derby movie which is coming soon and then do various activities working on their achievements in their books .All this means is I will be checking books all week and signing Joe's name since the LEADER is to busy:flamin:

Judy the camera is an Olympus stylus 770 sw .I love it .Made the snorkeling so much fun.

Sam is the camera guru so he may know more. Maybe now they have a newer model:confused:

SJ have the butler bring me a nice cold diet soda.

Good Morning (or afternoon).

Been trying to do some organizing today.  So far I did 1 closet.  If my husband wouldn't touch things, my house would be very organized.  He doesn't have a clue sometimes.

Larry just finished re-loading the wood rack on the deck.  I saw that fuel oil is about $3.50 a gallon and I don't want to use so much of it if I can get away with it.  The wood stove keeps the den and kitchen really warm and I have a fan from the kitchen down the hallway to the bedrooms.  It helps.  Plus I want to use up all the wood that we have in the pile this year and get a new delivery in the Spring for next year...that is my plan to organize the corner of the backyard.

I am going to Macy's later to buy that coffee machine that uses the cups to brew.  It is a Keurig.  Right now it is on sale for $150.00 and I have $140.00 in gift cards for Macy's.  I don't drink coffee but it also makes tea and Hot Chocolate.  Larry drinks a lot of coffee, but, he doesn't make it or clean the pot.  This way there is no clean-up (or so I hear).

Judy, I have a Sony camera that I like very much.  I bought it 2 years ago.

I also saw a Fuji camera that is very nice.  My boss bought it for his daughter.

Here is the info from the P.C. Richard website:  Model: FINEPIXS700
7.0 Megapixel (3,600 x 2,112 Resolution) •10 MB Memory •10.0X Optical and 1.0X Digital Zoom •Memory Expandable via XD or SD Cards •2.5" Color LCD TFT Active Matrix Screen - P.C. Richard retails it for $199.99

I don't know if they make the thing for either one of these cameras so that you can take it underwater.  The other thing to check when you are purchasing a camera is not only the Megapixels but also the Optical Zoom - That is what gives you a really good picture.

Hope this info helps you.

SJ, I got on another site for a while, sorry I missed you. I get calls all the time to sell my timeshre but I will never sell, as I love it.

We look forward to our land vacations as much as a cruise, Jerry prefers land, ;);) even tough since I've gottn him on 2 cruises he's coming around a litte, getting better, Alaska will be our next cruise together

Karen, my dd has that machine and she loves it, I like the hot cocoa :big grin: I don't do coffee either.

Thanks for the camera info, I'm pretty sure I want one you can just take underwater, I don't want to mess with the housing or those silly water ones anymore;) I also want a good zoom that's easy to work. I need simple, :big grin: I haven't figured out how to work the zoom on the one I have now or the video:(

Off to take down everything except the tree. Might catch a movie today and an adult one this time, :big grin: I always like the kid ones better but I want to see the nes one with Johnny Deep, Sweeeny Todd Ithink is the name of it, not sure.

Bye have a great Sat.

Judy I find the camera very easy .What makes it so nice is that you just go .No need to put cases on .I had not even opened the book before the cruise .Just set to underwater and go.Well Sam did it for me:PI never changed the setting so even taking normal  pictures it was fine.Since I have the time I have been looking over the book .I wanted to get good pictures last week at wrestling  .I still don't know what I'm doing but I am determined to learn. Many people on the beach in Bermuda stopped me to ask about the camera .Guess it looks strange putting this little silver camera underwater:shock:

My underwater pictures did come good so I am pleased.

For Wrestlmania I may be bringing my Canon 35,mm with one of my dad's very large zoom lenses.I also will take the digital's too.I have a few to choose from and I have his cameras.I didn't take after my dad He was an excellent photographer Even did it as a side business in his younger days

Back to cleaing up:(

I think this type of coffeemaker would not work for me .I just realized it uses those pods or cups .I drink a lot of coffee .That morning pot of coffee is gone .Then I do it again at night .Joe has a carton of espresso pods he ordered .It's very easy when your only making two cups at a time or one but I need the POT .

It still looks pretty good and if I had one I am sure I could adapt:P
