We're getting hit now. The new smiley is very appropriate for today's weather. It made for great sleeping in weather this morning. I didn't want to get up.
I was going to go to the library but I think I'll just hibernate instead.

Hi fools
Heidi Have a great cruise. I probaly missed you.
SJ SO sorry for your loss. What a horrible thing to happen. Take care of yourself through this. I have been experiencing much of this type of thing last week. I have hospitalized a couple of people due to thoughts which may have been carried through. How sad.
Becky Hope there will not be much damage. We will get the storm after you. I am going to try and venture out to the harbor and beach to check out the waves. I can not resist.
The girls came over last night to celebrate Ron's birthday. We all went out to eat and had a good time. We were going to spend the whole day together today but because of the storm, we will do it another time. My youngest Diana lives in sturbridge about 2 hours away and I did not want her and her boyfriend to travel with the bad weather. So today i will do some cleaning and wait for Hanna. Boy is it humid here.
AL I will try out those cookies. Just reading them makes my mouth water.
Stay safe all.

Happy Birthday to Ron,
Sounds like you had a nice time Marie, good thing for your dd to get home safe before the storm. You don't want to be on a highway with the pouring rain and wind.
I'm cleaning house today too. It's a good day to get things done. We might run into town to get a few things and the use some Shoprite coupons that expire today. MAYBE.
Is it me or do they jeep changing the toys? This morning I don't see some I already used. Funny. Plus the other day the wrong title came up on them
back to cleaning

Bet there will be plenty of good seats in the show lounge tonight :gottago:
Wonder how many will be venturing to the dining room bet they got the bags out

Happy Birthday Ron
The weather is not bad .I worry more about the wind.I pulled in all the pool toys .Should have done it yesterday since last nights storm brought the wind.
Grace how are the girls doing ? Did they have a good first week?
Jennifer has a test on Tuesday and pages of science to do.I thought at least till Monday no homework but it started on Thursday and she had to write a prayer.
Joseph will get it on Monday
The news is showing Point Pleasant right now the waves are fierce.I am crazy enough that I wish I was there .Do you think Joe will take a ride only about 15 minutes away :tomatoes:
Looks like they are saying there is more to come .A lot of road closures.
My mother fell and thought she broke her hip but she didn't just badly bruised .She was packed and ready to go to the hospital just in case .I have to laugh because this is so not how my mom was before.I guess after getting sick she looks for the worse thing .I said if her hip was broken she wouldn't be able to take the pain and walk.
Okay I hear the kids better go see what the problem is now

Goodmorning
The sun is shinning this morning. Hope all of you survived the storm. We got some wind and a lot of rain. I just came back from the beach and the waves are pretty big. I love watching them.
Ron thanks you for the birthday wishes. Today we are going to get ready for the first game of the Pats football game. We are having a party for opening game with some of our friends. Ron doesn't know it but they are bringing over yet more cake and some funny presents. So I am cooking again.
My boss called me yesterday and told me to clear a couple hours for lunch. He wants to go out for lunch with me and the business manager. It will be a working lunch but he would not tell me about what other than planning for the up comming year. Said it looks real good so I do not have to worry. He knows me I worry. We have a staff retreat the week after that I have to talk about the center goals and what I would like to see happen for my staff. It is going to be a busy year. I always bring cholocate when we have these discussions. I call it therapy food.
Well off to cook.

Good morning pirates
I hope everyone made out ok in the storm. We had about 2 inches of rain, but just about no wind. We could even leave some windows open. They did think that a tornado might have touched down in Allentown (about 25 miles away). The sun actually came out for a couple of minutes late in the day.
It was a good day to be curled up with a book and then to watch Penn State do their thing. Although it is getting tiresome reading about their players getting suspended or dropped for silly crap . They did play well though.
Belated Happy Birthday to Ron.
Lee, Teresa would go with you to watch the waves in a storm. She always watches on TV. She wants to go to the North Shore on Hawaii to see the waves, but I think we will be a month early. We'll try though. I've already emailed a tour op for the volcanoes (thirteen month early planner )

Good Morning
We made it through the storm really well. Some little branches with leaves on them are on the lawn, but it is nothing to worry about. Now we have to say our prayers for those in Ike's path. That is one heck of a storm.
I made Snickerdoodles last night and I made the dough for the Crinkles. I just put the first 2 trays of them into the oven. Steven will be happy to have them.
Don't know what our plan for the day is, but the weather is beautiful.
We are stormy ocean people too. We went Friday night and there were no waves. Larry took Steven back yesterday morning while I was food shopping and they weren't letting anyone in. The waves must have been bad already.
Have a good day. The cookies are about to come out of the oven .

OMG....these crinkles are delicious!!!!! I have the second and last batch in the oven now. I have to get a cookie scoop though........the kind that measures and has something to release the dough. I have been working with 2 teaspoons and it made such a mess. I also so the importance of the parchment paper. I don't have solid sheets of it, just the triangle shapes that I bought for cake decorating. I put 2 together and they made a square, but, if a cookie was on the "seam" the cookie would break.
Thank you Al and Theresa for the recipes. All the cookies came out great.

Karen, glad you enjoyed the cookies . Teresa used two teaspoons also. I guess one of those cookie scoops would have made life a tad easier.
I just noticed that I signed off with the last time. I could swear that I clicked on . Is there such a thing as a Freudian click?

Hi everyone,
I slept late again today I must have been more stressed then I thought. Jerry left at 9am to go work on JB's car and I feel right back to sleep until 10:30 so I know I was tried. we didn't go to bed to 1am.
Just doing much of nothing today the weather is so nice so I'm going to read the paper outside, organize a some more things and do a few loads of wash and iron cloths for the week and make dinner. I think that will be a day
The weekends go by way too quick.
Come on with the cookies again, you guys are killing me, you're making me Karen I can taste them as you write about them.
I just had my hey I like that new one and I'm now down 16 pounds. No cookies for me I want to be at least at 20 by the time we leave on Oct 8th.

I was wondering what the heck you were talking about! Especially since the smiley with the cup is called "need coffee." I couldn't imagine what time for "roll eys" meant.
I miss floating Homer but I guess the season is over.

Good morning everyone,
Karen that's great. I'm just cutting back not trying to do any fade diet this time as they never seem to work for me. I lose and then gain it back. This time I'm trying a "life style changes." This way I can live with it the rest of my life, hopefully. I have my mind set now.
Exercise class starts back up now that school is open again so that should help, as I haven't gone since June.
Monday morning again. Today will be like a new start up for us. Hope it's a good week. I have so much to do that I haven't had a chance, no matter what happens today, I have to get payroll done or else the drivers won't get paid and then we're in trouble
Bye for now

Ah yes, 'tis yet another Monday morning.
I think that the thing with the smileys has to do with the adding and removing process they did. Need coffee seems to be gone. Oh well....
Looks like a fine, fine day. Warning for possible strong thunderstorms tomorrow afternoon/evening followed by cool weather though. Becky, it's getting cool at night here. Not pool weather anymore. Are you all ready for Egypt?
Teresa is taking her dad for a blood test this morning and then she's giving a lady from church a ride to a doctor's appointment this afternoon which will fill most of her day. Her sister is going in for a hip replacement tomorrow, so we are having them for dinner tonight. I'll be the chili maker, I guess
(Just cause I haven't used it lately and I like looking at it )

The girls had a great first week.
They both like their teachers and have classmates they know in their class. Emma has a few particularly close friends and some she knew from K and 1st grade. Her teacher is tough but is "nice" - she knows how to bribe her kids - she keeps a stash of treats that she doles out.
Lauren has a nice, clean cut, polite Korean boy in her class that she also had in her class last year. I observed that he seemed to pay more attention to her. And she did act a bit more "smiley" around him although, she didn't single him out or anything like that. I just thought it was cute. In my head, I was chanting "Lauren has a boyfriend" but I kept it to myself because she wouldn't like it and her sister would taunt her unmercifully about it. I mentioned it to Sam who immediately said it was time to transfer schools!! Lol. He said he was joking but he didn't look it.
They BOTH got homework starting the first day. Lauren's was much easier, of course, but I'm so glad that she consistently got something each day. Makes her sister less crazy about "fairness." Also, helped me established a schedule for homework that worked for both girls. Emma did NOT complain about homework at all this year even though she came home with a lot from day one. She knew going into the accelerated class would require more hw and it was her choice to do so. It helps that all her friends and classmates were also willing to do the work.
I think Emma had a test on Friday already and another one today. I think the one on Friday was probably an assessment test.
Hopefully, it was be a good year and the girls will learn a lot.
Glad to hear that Mom is ok. NOW I know where you get your attitude about injuries and pain from. I'm assuming that the pain in your tooth went away, is bearable, or you are drugged up for the pain because I don't think you ever did get to the dentist, did you?

Hi everyone,
Well another work Monday has passed. Busy but we again survived.
I did work late and skipped out on I need it but it just wasn't going to happen today, parents wouldn't let it . maybe I will make Wed. or I will start off next Monday.
I got meetings Wed. and Thurs. a half day Wed. all day Thurs. I forgot have nice it was during the summer to not have to go to so many meetings. Back to all the committees. It's a PIA.
Other then that just taking it easy, I want to go camping this weekend but don't think it will come together. Then we might just go to the airshow in Rhinebeck with my nephews.
Then the 20th a trip to Brooklyn to see cruise friends we made on the spirit. Then to finally get to see my dd on 10/4 with my best friend (who my kids call aunt as I have no sisters) and my mother and I are all going to Virginia and bringing a baby shower to her, as she can't travel now.
So pretty busy fall planned. I also want to go to the Big E fair, need to fit that in.
Bye
