Lee, so sorry to read you cancelled your cruise. All I could think of was when you had to cancel the April 1st "fools cruise" Sure sounds like the best thing to do under the circumstance.
We were planning to see Dark Night today too but that didn't happened. Jerry installed the garage door opener as my Jeep drives him crazy parked outside  one way to get it done quickly 
Karen sounds like a nice weekend. It sure was hot. Has Steven been driving yet?
SJ, I know what you mean about the NCL vouchers, we have $1000 to use for our cruise next May and I'm sure by final payment I will have another $500, can't beat that when you get 500, 1000 or even 1500 off a cruise.
Time to go as I still need to iron an outfit for work tomorrow, it's been a long day.

Good Morning.
Lee, sorry about the cruise. Let's hope the job thing clears up quickly.
Marie, it's good your DD is OK, hope she gets at least partial relief. My SIL had that happen and it was decided she was only partially at fault so they prorated everything.
I have an 8:00 teeth cleaning today  . I always try for early appointments to get it over with .

Good morning everyone!
Don't count us in on the cruise yet...we may have to join the ranks of cancelled cruisers.
I'm on my way to a meeting this morning. It's a job that I wasn't really looking for, but just kind of fell into my lap. If I do accept the offer, I probably won't be taking any vacation this year.
The good news is...we have many many more cruises to look forward to....hopefully together..!!!

Kathy sorry to hear that you might cancel too. Seems like this cruise is just not falling together for the fools. For a good job offer, hey that's a good reason to cancel. At least you're good to go SJ.
Sounds like NY's no fault isn't so bad now. 
Have a great Monday off to work I go, I wish I was off, I need a week off to get the things I need to do around the house done

Hope everyone had a great weekend. We had a relaxing one, hiding in the air conditioned apartment.
Sorry to hear about all the cancellations on the October cruise.  My parents and friends are actually thinking of booking on the 10/19/08 Dawn cruise from NYC to Bermuda.
REALLY looking forward to seeing some fools in less than 2 weeks!!

It looks like EVERYONE is bailing OUT OF THE DREAM CRUISE......!!!
I just called my TA and asked her to put a "hold" on my final payment until I think this through, CALMLY......!!! I have until Friday to confirm or cancel.
I DO understand that stuff happens in life. It is just that I had cancelled another cruise I had for October for the Dream, to be with my Friends.... And, now that my Friends won't be going, well, I have to think about it......

WHAT A WAY TO START MY DAY.....!!!
Reading about Lee and Joe and possibly FG and Paul cancelling the Dream, let me think about something else for now......
Thomas took our boy Billy to the Vet this morning. Over the weekend, Thomas felt a large, hard concord grape size bump on Billy's lower left jaw.
The Doctor took a biopsy and we should know in a few days. I am hoping that it will be just a cyst or something not serious...... I am TRYING not to stress myself over all the "what if's".........
Life is just chock full of ups and downs isn't it.....?????
But, there IS good news, Billy has lost TWO POUNDS in a bit over a month. The Doctor is happy.......
I don't have much planned for today. Just more cleaning, I just NEVER seem to keep ahead of all the crap that comes into this house..........

I am Happy for your good fortune, but, I am BUMMED that we might not be seeing you this October.

Hello.
Bummer about everyone cancelling their cruise.
I have made my final payment for Egypt and Jordan but somehow my pre-stay at the hotel in Cairo got cancelled. I don't know how since I booked 11 months in advance. I'm waiting to hear if they can get me in. I know the hotel is booked up. I'm hoping Tauck has a block of rooms reserved.
I know that there are other hotels in Cairo but only Oberoi Mena House is at the base of the pyramids. I really looked forward to floating around in the pool while gazing at the pyramids. I will be very upset (PISSED) if I don't get it. My travel agent will never hear from me again.
Why can't things just go the way they're supposed to?

In addition to my hotel fun I get to be involved in an international bank hassle. 
On 6/12 we wired $1000 to our bank account in Bonaire. We just got our 6/30 statement and the money never made it.
I only have 30 days (from 6/30) to contest the statement so I've been faxing shit to Bonaire, visiting my local bank and going to the post office to send certififed mail to Bonaire. 
Fun, fun, fun.
Why can't things just go the way they're supposed to?

Update! I finally got my pyramid view room confirmed! :devilbanana:
I had been waiting to hear since last Tuesday so they really had me sweating.
Now I just have to get the banking thing worked out.

Oh Becky, I hope you get the banking error fixed. Glad you got the room you wanted, relaxing in the pool while viewing pyramids now that's a vacation to remember.
SJ, hope all is well with Billy, keep us informed. Are there any fools going on the dream now besides yourself and Thomas? I wish I could join you and keep you company. But it wasn't in the stars for me this time. I'm sure whatever you decide will be fun and you and Thom will enjoy the time at sea.
Grace, good to see you posting. Being in the AC was the only way to go this weekend.
We need to cheer this group up some, we need some good news seems all the news lately is bringing everyone down.
I had some bad news but ended in good news, my dd had a scare while in the Bahamas the day they were leaving but she went to the dr. the day she return and the baby seems to be doing fine, a little over 3 months she has to go yet. She never told me to Sun so she didn't worry me

Good morning!!!
Well, my meeting was very interesting. I've got a lot of thinking to do but I'm leaning towards accepting the offer.
The downside is, I would have to move my book of business, and I have to think about how this will affect my clients.
The upside is, I would be part of the foundation of an exciting innovative new company that would shake this industry up....right up my alley.
SJ, I got your message yesterday, and I'm so so sorry you're so upset. Call me this afternoon if you'd like. I will know more my the end of the week, but from my discussions yesterday, I will be going non-stop on getting this company up and running. No cruise in October.

Becky, good news on the room. From what I hear, you will need that pool . Are you on a Tauck tour or is that the hotel they use? Sure hope the bank thing gets cleared up. Should be some kind of trail they can follow.
Judy, glad to hear that the baby is OK. My cleaning went very well, thank you.
Our friends came and we had a nice Chinese buffet lunch, then came back here and had wine and watermelon while we watched a DVD that had a bunch of the ports we will visit next month. Really helped to get us in the mood. (Like we needed something)
Teresa decided that since we will be gone more than half the month that she'd like to see the kids before we leave. It's really nicer to visit them when the university is not in session. Adding 40,000 people to an area does make a difference. So, we are going out on Monday and coming home Wednesday morning. Have to have enough time to make the cookies . I found we can stay at the place where they had the wedding for less than places farther away. We can walk to their apartment.

We are doing a Tauck tour and it's the hotel they use. I would have been there for a few days anyway - we are getting there a day early in case our flights go bad. It will also give us a chance to aclimate to the heat and time change.
I know that it's very hot there but it's more comfortable than here due to the lack of humidity. It might be about 120 degrees when we get down to Luxor.

Kathy - the new job sounds like it could be exciting. I love new challenges. I'm easily bored.
It's a shame it interferes with your cruise but a career is more important.
