Lee that is good news for Joseph.  That bake thing sounds kind of cool.  How old is he going to be?  They grow up soooooo darn fast.  Steven was 6 when I came into his life...now he is 16 and is "allowed" to drive.  I never imagined the day would come.

I didn't realize how red I got today.  It doesn't hurt and isn't very hot (thank goodness), but I am red.

We went to Carraba's with our friends from the Dawn.  We had a really good time.  Larry and I saw them at Rocking Horse Ranch a few weeks ago, but they didn't get to see Steven.  It was good food and many many laughs.  They are going back on the Dawn on Sunday and heading back to Bermuda.  They just came off a B2B on the Spirit and have 2 more cruises booked after the Dawn...a Carnival and a Disney.  I wish I could join them.  Good people.

I ironed my clothes for the morning.  I have to be out by my parents at 8 am to get my car inspected.  I am also going to try to go by my Aunt and Uncle and give them some help around the house...they both have very bad health.

I had to make another batch of Brownies for tomorrow at the pool.  They went really fast today.

Have a really good night.  Stay cool tomorrow.  It's going to be another hot one.

Goodmorning

HOT HOT HOT weekend. Going for my walk doen the beach before the heat settles in.  then get a nice large ice coffee. This week felt like it had 10 working days in it. My boss gets back from vacation on Monday. However he is at the golf fun rasier all day so I have to hold things down at the center again.

SJ I will know Monday or tues if I can come to the get together. There are so many funrasiers happening with a huge crystal ball in Oct. Getting ready for that, clients, some of my staff on vaca, I am not sure if he will let me go for a long weekend. Plus I have a lot of meetings with different companies for the fall employee groups. WE will see as I would love to see some of the fools and meet AL.

Al if you sent the pictures they did not get through. :(

SJ Hope your bathroom adventure is solved.

Karen Congrats to steven on his learners permit. I had to hold my breath when my daughters started to drive. I am a worried parent. My oldest christina just totaled her car last week. She hit a truck. She is fine was only shock up. Both sides had a green light and the truck came out of no where. Because she hit the truck she is at fault. the poor kid is so upset and has to get a new car which she can not afford right now. She is trying to fight it. :shoot me:

FG Hope your back is better. I know how painful it can be.  Drugs and a little :martini:helps with the pain. lol

JUdy How was the conference? Did you learn a lot? Glad you are home.

Lee I bet you are enjoying your pool/ i will probaly go to my aunts house today and go in her pool. Hope Joes test come out ok.

Well think I will go for that walk now.

Stay cool all.

GOOD AFTERNOON.....!!!:smiley1:

How is EVERYBODY today.....???

I see from the lack of posts that Summertime has arrived......;)

We are all busy doing other things while the weather is good. None of this hanging out by the computer stuff, we can save that for the Winter.....!!!:smiley1:

Yesterday, I was on the "sick list". I WON'T go into details, but, I DID spend my day NEAR a toilet..........

Today I feel a bit better, not as bad as yesterday, which is good......

I hope to get into the pool this afternoon for a few hours. That would be nice.......:smiley1:

This evening, at 5:00pm, we are going next door for our neighbor's Birthday Party. That should be nice too.

Last night Sara went to go see "Mama Mia" with her friends, she LIKED IT....!!! I heard her for hours on the computer listening to ABBA songs last night after she came home.....

I came down stairs yesterday afternoon for a cup of tea, to find that my DARLING Husband, my PERSONAL "Handy Man"......;), had cut all the old cement on the bathroom walls WITHOUT putting any barrier up between the Kitchen and the Living Room OR removed ANYTHING from the Bathroom itself, SO, EVERYTHING has a nice layer of CEMENT DUST on it......!!!:dangit:

I did NOT get excited, just spent a few hours washing things down. It could have been worse.....

Thomas is coming along on the project. Today he plans on putting up the cement board and making the little niche. The little niche,  I think is causing him the MOST stress, because he has never made something like that before. But, from my perspective, if Thomas can build a shed from SCRATCH, NO PLANS, he CAN make a small niche in a tile wall....!!!

Thomas has sheetrocked before and put up walls too. It just AMAZES ME at what he CAN DO....!!! He even added a new outlet in the living room wall because the wall is down in the bathroom.

The good thing is that the Bathroom is SO TINY. Probably 6x4and a 1/2. It was added back in the early 60's, an under the stairs kind of space. It is a perfect little space.

Well, let me go read the back posts.

I hope that EVERYBODY has a GREAT DAY.....!!!:smiley1:

LIFE IS SHORT, SEIZE THE DAY.....!!!

Maybe next week it will be finished......:smiley1:

OH NO....!!!:( I am glad she was not injured. Driving can sometimes be a VERY tricky business........:sheep:

You stay cool too.....!!!:freezing: :smiley1:

Hi everyone,

We went to a local street festival and it was just so hot we stayed about 90 minutes or so. Couldn't stand it anymore. There's some great bands playing but it's just tooooooo hot.

I wanted to go tubing BUT we don't have the truck to transport the tubes. oh well wasn't to be. We need to go shopping so Jerry wants to do that as it's in the AC. We need to replace a lot of stuff that we lost with the lighting.

SJ, I'm laughing with you as Jerry did the same thing last week with installing a new bathroom light and fan unit. He had to sheet rock the ceiling and then there was dust everywhere. Thanks God the men can do things around the house.

Marie, sorry to hear about your DD, we always worry when they drive. As they never outgrow that. It was a great conference. Now I have lots of things to do :P

Bye:outtahere:

Morning all.

Looks like another day to enjoy your pool or air. Already warm and it's not even 7 yet :flamin:. There was a time yesterday when it felt like the humidity was lessening, but that didn't last long at all. Oh well, in 4-5 months we'll be bitching about the temps in the other direction :P. Although I think I'd miss my four seasons.

SJ and Judy, you know you can't do work without making dust and debris. It's in the manual, chapter 4, "Making a Mess".

Judy, how is the work on the truck coming? Have you gotten recovered from the lightning strike or do you have to wait on the insurance guy?

Our traveling companions are coming for lunch tomorrow and we're going to watch a video I got from Netflix which shows most of the ports we're stopping at on the European part of our cruise. We're doing a mix of HAL, private, and on our own tours. I like the way HAL does it in that you pay for the tours when you book them. They are refundable, but it's one less expense to worry about post cruise :big grin:.

I got four suitcases down, but hopefully we will only need 3. Luckily international flights are not being charged for luggage yet and we're allowed 2 at 50 lbs each. I do plan to pack an old folding suitcase my mom used to use. Since once we are not doing any flying when we return, luggage isn't as much of a concern.

GOOD MORNING.....!!!

It is quite nice out there today........

Thomas is off to the Trolley Museum, he left early this morning, he and a bunch of other guys will be doing "Manly Men" track and electrical work.......  ;)

Sara is going to her friend Paige's "Sweet 16" Party at 12:00noon. That leaves just me and the Puppies "Home Alone"......:smiley1:

I think I will go in the pool for a few hours, after I get back from droping her off......

The party last night was VERY NICE.......:smiley1:

Met some nice people and had some interesting conversations.....

It's kind of neat to just walk to and back from a party, all of two minutes......

Our neighbor, Bill was 70 years old........:smiley1:

Well, that's about all for now, I will check back later.......

Happy Sunday to all.

Capt, so sorry you had to cancel, it's never fun to cancel any trip.

Was it hot yesterday or what? I think we melted some, but didn't lose any weight :big grin:

We did get a new garage door opener and a new phone system. Two things replaced, now Jerry has to install the door opener :P Jerry fixed the Generator himself, good thing he's very mechanical. As we have a $1000. we are not claiming things for the house as it will come to just about $1000. Jerry is also fixing the cellar floor as his BIL is a mason and told him how to do it.

His truck is still at the dealer, it waited a week for the adjuster and then this week the guy who does the electrical stuff is out sick. So maybe Tuesday they will get to it. Been there since 7/7

I did get my car back on Friday it came to $830.00 plus the tow bill, so we're thinking Jerry's truck will be about the same. He has a $500 deductible.

We are going the right direction.

Capt'n, bummer about the cruise. I sure hope the job situation changes for the better for you very soon.

Just trying to stay as cool as possible here today. I did go up and take a nap with the AC on. I don't like being shut in to a couple of rooms, so I don't turn the downstairs one on as often.

SJ, the girl who plays the daughter in Mamma Mia is from about 25 miles from here. She was in Mean Girls and they write her up in the paper often.

Lee, you're right, it is only two weeks away. Have to make sure we have everything on hand for cookies :P.

I am so sorry to hear that Tom and Sharon and Lee and Joe had to cancel the October cruise.  I know I would be quite upset if I had to.  I hope the economy turns around and one day we can ALL cruise together...or at least if I won the Lottery (I will share).

We had a good weekend.  Was at my Aunt's pool Friday, Saturday and today.  What a nice pool she has.  I got some nice tan too.  The kids had a really good time, they all get along so well together.

I am making Fajitas for dinner tonight.  I am going to put together an Eggplant Parm to have for some lunches this week.  Who knows it may not even make it that far, I love to snack on the fried pieces.  I made brownies friday night and today I bought Strawberries and whipped cream to have over them...YUM!

Enjoy the rest of the HOT weather, hopefully soon we will get a little break from it.

I'm sorry too.I am so pre-occupied with so many other things that it really hasn't hit me:( For the past few weeks all I could think about were Joseph's tests Now we are back to worrying about his job.How would you like to hear they will not be moving the lab .Joe is the LAB:finger:

With all the crap going on with Joe's job I can't plan on anything beyond a month. It is not a good time  for engineers Captn is proof of that:flamin:

Joe waited till the last possible minute to cancel. I better double check that he did  I don't even know when final was due:shock:

So Kathy and Paul

Sj And Thomas

We are so sorry we will be missing this time together But I am sure we will do it again in the future and when we do Sharon and Tom will be with us and all the other fools too:proud:

The Dark Knight is everything the reviews say it is .

5 stars for sure

Heath Ledger  as the joker is unforgettable.  Something that he is dead .Leaves you feeling very strange .

Christian Bale was very good.I have to watch Batman Beyond again but I think his performance is better in this one but this movie is much better..I can't help but think of him in American Psycho:shock:Strange strange movie but I think I have seen it a few times :big grin:.They were running it last week on Showtime or Hbo .

I say go see it in the theater .You want that big screen .I think we may go see it again at the Imax theater. The explosions would be great.
