Greg just left for NJ . It's his turn to visit Kate 's family. We will have to move John's bed on Sunday instead of tonight.

Hope the storm is not too bad tomorrow. Sounds like we will get a lot of wind and rain.

Have a group of  friends that are supposed to go on the SPIRIT tomorrow night. They booked hoping to see if they liked it so they could book a longer cruise. Most are concerned with getting seasick. Doesn't seem like a good first cruise

Hi Chris. At least Jimmy had 2 days off with you. I hope the storm is not bad for you and Jimmy and yoiur friends.

Hi Sharon:big grin:

So far the weather is good here. Hot and humid. The ocean was pretty calm looking as  was the Bay when I was driving along the road home from food shopping. You never know though could be the calm before the storm:shock:

Are you planning Redwoods for Tues:confused: in Oct? Perhaps you would like to get together for dinner out here on Monday?

No we are a few blocks from the ocean and the bay. THe ocean & the bay do meet at times:shock: Last time people were brought out of our house by boat was in the 1960's Hurraine Donna.

Last time the ocean met the bay was during a Nor'easter . I believe Dec 1993???

That sucks! I would be upset too.

:brightidea: Another reason to move closer to the North East!

Good idea!  Don't you have hurricanes come through? Do you have blizzards also?  How about tornados?  But I think I would take a complete lifetime moratorium on building.

Full-out blizzards are way too rare around here--I love them. Now when I lived in northern NY, blizzards were common. But in the Tri-state area? We're lucky if we get one good one a year--and we do not. Not by northern NY or Minn standards, anyway. Hurricanes? Not since I moved back here 9 years ago. Grew up in NY area and never have experienced a tornado.

The Bummer Busters got to experience one of the way too rare blizzards:dangit:Feb 2006 as we were trying to board the DAWN in New York City:shock: A cruise none of us will forget for sure.

I do remember hearing about that ... I was in the Carribbean at the time (on the cruise just before yours!). :angeldevil1:

The boys are lookin' good. Glad to hear they're off to a good start.

They seem fine with everything. The promise of a laptop for every student goes a long way towards thinking your new school is OK!

Yes, but I did not keep them. It was on the news too. Even Manhattan was flooding . The tide surged and people on the FDR ( a road in the city)were killed. We've had a few Nor'easters that were bad not positive about the date

I don't remember there being a problem ... but I think because we were on the Spirit 10-day that year, when both Spirit & Dawn left from NY. Does that make sense? Becaue I do remember we just missed the blizzard by a few days and by the time we returned the snow was all tidy and no longer a problem. I remember feeling badly for the folks on the cruise that was supposed to leave then.

That was Feb 2006? Yes. We were on the Spirit. We left NY on Thursday. The blizzard hit over the weekend! It all comes back now.

Good morning gang. It's looking mighty dark out there. But I don't think today is going to be half as bad as they originally anticipated. Now the weather channel is saying an accumulation of maybe an inch of rain. And only a couple of hours of steady rain, otherwise, just showers. It's still going to be damp shopping today....but we'll have fun regardless! Enjoy your weekend everyone. Remember I won't be on tomorrow morning so don't worry when I don't wake you up.

Good Morning

I am reading back posts. I haven't been on much. This was a busy week at work. "back to school week" is tough on a hairdresser. Even right after the kids go back, its moms long awaited turn.  Today is our big party at the club. We expect over 400 people. It starts at 2, just

Today is our big party at the club. We expect over 400 people to attend. It starts at 2, just when the storm is supposed to hit.  This is the first year in 6 years Pete and I aren't the Chairmen for the party. We can have fun. Usually we have to go to bed early on friday night. We usually got up at 4am on Saturday. Last night we stayed up and partied until 3:30, just because we could. The only problem is now I have a slight hangover.

I hope everyone stays dry and safe today

Good Morning Gang

I really expected to get up to at least a steady light rain. No rain but it feels like the tropics and the air can be cut with a knife.

Leslie - enjoy the party. Not the best timing but who knows you could get it in without getting wet.

Deb - I guess we can get by one morning without your wakeup post but they took away the coffee emoticon. The Smiley Central one is too wierd. What will we do

Not even donuts to look forward to This guy has not shown up in months :flamin:

Good morning gang. Seems as if you East Coasters can have a thick slice of humidity for breakfast, lunch and dinner from the sounds of the weather. It is cool, dry and sunny here.

Jim, I think if you wait long enough, the rain will start and with it lower temps and humidity??? Sorry your coffee smilie is gone...

Deb, you are excused from tomorrow morning wake up. Have fun shopping.

Leslie, enjoy the party today...don't let the rain clouds stop ya.

later...

Hi Gang:big grin:

Jimmy got home from work around 1AM. It was pouring out here at the time. Right now it's 79. So humid and so foggy. Many fog horns from the ocean.

Very still all morning. Took down the awning on our swing, put some deck furniture away . We got an alert call from the coop saying to batten down the hatches. So we did.

The wind is picking up and bit now. Jimmy is happy to stay home as Notre Dame plays today at 3:30. Have to go find some ear plugs . I know he will be yelling at the TV later today:shock:

Leslie I hope your party goes well. Hopefully it won't be too bad near you.

Hope you all have a great day:kiss:

Pretty quiet here today. Greg took Liam for swimming lessons and I took Spencer out to lunch. Now we are getting ready for happy hour.:martini: Anyone want a margarita???

Hey I just noticed the new emoticons. I like this guy!:monster:

Hi Amy:big grin:

I will take a Margarita pleeeeze:P Oh never mind , Jimmy just gave me a glass of wine:wine:. But thanks anyway:smiley1:

Jimmy is watching the Notre Dame :football:game and they are tied. (not losing for a change:cheer:) Do hope it stays that way. Makes for a much nicer night:smiley1:

Happy to hear Liam is taking swimming lessons. Hopefully when you visit next summer he can show us his new skills.

Raining on and off here, still VERY humid. Opened the back door to check the storm out and my glasses fogged immediately:transformation:The wind is scary at times.

Hope all is well with everyone.

Wonder how Fil is making out at the Wedding. Hopefully it hasn't hit MA yet

Hi gang. I heard from Deb just now. They have shopped and shopped and filled Em's car with packages! She also said it had stopped raining there and was a very nice evening with a breeze but still some humidity. She'll be home tomorrow afternoon.

Hope all are safe and not flooded.

We ended up getting a little more than 2" of rain and almost no wind, so we're happy.

Amy and I watched National Treasure starring Nicholas Cage, an excellent movie if you haven't seen it.

It's beautiful out now, 70, low humidity and tomorrow should eb pretty nice.

Off to read some.:sleepy:
