Tony was talking about booking an AF but didn't say what he actually booked.

Not us, so I think it probably was Tony,

We are still thinking about an AB share but two adults in the little room will be a bit tight even when one of them is as small as Nina. We could relegate the parents to it but they deserve better after all I owe them big time for bring me up.

I should be ok. You may need to steal a little closet space in the master. You have the lving room and balcony in fact the only time you go in the little room is to change and sleep.

Phil, I thought you'd decided that the small bedroom was about the same size as an inside, albeit with the bed in a different arrangement?  Has your Transatlantic AF put you off travelling in "only" an inside?

Hell will just have to be "put on hold" so that we can all sail together again!

I have to say it was nice doing an AF for a TA with a lot of sea days  the space is nice to have for a laid back trip, but we spent little time in the cabin when not sleeping, I think we spent more time in Cagnies, definately eating somewhere anyway.

For the future port intensive trip inside will be fine allthough I do now have a good feel for the value of something better.

There are a few things still to consider before we can commit, but the AB is big enough to make a share viable, with the 3-4pax prices($820 all cabins) the extra value is there compared to a couple of OV which are more money.

I did a cabin count this morning and of the 47 suites there are 20 left but only 5 of the 10 ABs. so this is on carefull watch while we make up our minds.

I am looking at airfare again today. :shoot me: I have a question how far out do BA or Virgin post special fares. I am not sure it is the fact the flights are over 6 months out or an increase in price for peak season.

I can book the Tampa Flights for almost $400 less on BA inside 6 months (May) Newark is the same on Continental in May but I can book the same flights with Virgin for $250 less in May.

My fear with only one nonstop option from Tampa -BA, leaving on a Friday, in peak season the fare could go up not down over time.

For UK to US flights the prices usually increase substantially from 1st July (+$300 per person) but you would be flying earlier than that.  I'll keep an eye out for offers - I'm on various mailing lists including BA's!

We've been booked on this one since the intin was opened.....aft AF.

Still undecided, though, if we will travel with NCL again......so we'll firm up closer to the sailing.

I will keep you on the list. So far we have 4 of the aft AFs with this little group here. We can own deck 11 aft and steal a butler. :big grin:

Ahhhhh...my Lord High Admiral...it appears that your able administrative aide has somehow removed us from the list............the more we toss this around, the more we want to go.......but still undecied.

For the JFK-LGW flight you could try http://www.flyzoom.com comes out at $681.25 to fit in with this cruise.($651.25 if you want to fly back Sun)

Tyey do florida Fort Lauderdale at $751.25 but not so convenient dates.

Thanks for the link. I have never heard of Zoom. The prices and times are perfect. The 20 kg checked bag and 5 kg carry on represent a challage(my laptop is 3+ kg). Even with the $10 per kilo for overweight it is still a good value.  Car service to JFK instread of EWR adds about $150 to my cost.

Need to do a little homework

Thanks again

Here is a first from Zoom

We accept Visa and MasterCard in Canada and Visa, Mastercard, Switch or Delta card or Visa-Debit card in the UK. We accept personal cheques (as long as it is more than 21 days prior to your departure) and certified cheques. Please note: we do NOT accept cash. A 2% administration fee will be charged for credit card transactions.

So what do they except in the states - checks

When I used them for a work trip just stuck my Visa CC in and it went through OK

If you can get super cheap flights to Canada you may find an option that way and save the extra car costs.

Jim, this question was posted on the darkside's Cruise Air board.  It might be worth a look if you haven't looked there already.

"Has anyone used,. Fly Europe dot com? I just got an AWESOPME quote from them for LAX to Barcelona. saving about 400.00 per ticket!! Flying on British airways."

No responses so far on how good/bad the site might be.

I've never seen either of the GVs as available for this cruise - someone important must have changed their mind!

I checked it out - prices look good but it is one of those sites that does not give you the carrier just "major European carrier" The times look imposible.

Thanks for the info.

Rather bizarrely the GV only shows up when you have 2 passengers.  It's not showing when I enter the 3 of us.  And here we were, all ready to hand over the money too :big grin:  NOT.
