Jeff,
It has been very hot here in Louisville, but nothing will top the heat in Memphis last week. We took our daughter back to college (she goes to Rhodes). They hit the triple digits every day. I am definately looking forward to our trip to Alaska. I hope your family is doing well and staying cool. Thank you for keeping in touch.

Here in Nothern CA the temp has been rather mild this summer. We are on ly at 100 these days. Not bad for summer in Sacto. My DH and DS are teasing me about all the pictures and videos I have viewed about our upcoming trip. I tell them there is plenty to see in Alaska and on the Pearl that I will have to discover by ourselves.
Funny side story that they remind me about. Last trip on Princess I spent months studing the ship layout, printed deck plans, planed out routes, just so I would not get lost. First five minutes on the ship, I was bragging about don't worry I know just how to get everywhere on this ship, and for not looking ran right into a pole. I do not know what was funnier my pain or DH's & DS's laughter. Of course you all know what they said "What!, Forgot to study that pole location".
So, for all you veteran Pearl people, my DH and DS would like you all to be sure and advise me all the poles.
Cannot wait to meet all of you and have a great time on the cruise.

What is it that makes men laugh at someone elses pain.
I am going to have to put on my thinking cap and try to remember the pole locations.

BTW, Nancy, what kind of dog do you have?
We took in a lost pup last year. She appears to be mostly Boston Terrior. She is a great dog but does she have an attitude.

Our Duchess Marie is a "Boxador" 1/2 boxer, 1/2 lab.
She is a great dog and the day care mascot. Don't tell her she thinks she is human and all my daycare kids are hers. She has mostly the boxer personality.

I really do feel for you! I hope you get some relief from the heat soon!
This morning I almost had to turn the heat on as it was only 49 degrees outside at our house. We really haven't had too much of a summer this year, but that's fine with me! We did have a week or so of temps in the 90's, but luckily the cool ocean air took care of it! Around here we start to swelter when it gets to 80!

We usually are in the 90's with very high humidity. So I shouldn't complain because the humidity has been low with a breeze.
That 49 degree morning does sound nice though.

Hey Jeff & all ya'll,
We are also going to the lake (Skiatook Lake this time). We are taking the grandkids to ride Sea-Doos. We don't do this too often since we have a pool but they went last year with some friends and have been begging to go again so we've rented a pontoon boat and are giving it one last summer hurrah!!! If we don't get back in time to see the OU game, we'll listen on the radio and watch it later on the DVR. I hate to miss the first game but you know, it's the last weekend before soccer starts so it's now or never!!!

I hope so...the only time my wife has told me to shut up was when she was in labor with our first child. I was so excited and was singing to her on the way to the hospital. That is a big .

Hi All!!!
I know this is supposed to be about cruising, but I just have to share:
Cruisin Lawdog and I have a new bundle of joy at our house! Shiloh is 7 weeks old today and is as cute as a button! But, man, does she have teeth and chews on everything!!! We haven't gotten much sleep the past 2 weeks because she power naps, then wants to play at full throttle all hours of the day and night.
Puppy kindergarten and obedience training is a must for her!

Yes, she is. This is our third one. The other two were adult rescue dogs, and they were wonderful and loyal pets. We decided to take the plunge this time and get a puppy. It's been many, many years since we've had a puppy!

Oh my Gosh, What a little cutie..
I actually like to call it "people training". Dogs know how to act like dogs, we have to go to training to learn to act like them, so we can communicate with them.
Welcome the little one to your pack, with lots of love and paper towels.

Nancy:
I thought about you this weekend. I kept seeing this movie promo for "Good Luck Chuck" and this girl has run-in with a pole while looking at her guy.
It seems you are not the only girl that doesn't know where them poles are located.

Jeff Loved that part of the movie. So many memories it brings back. Still waiting for my list of poles on the pearl. Very hyped now, because just booked my pre and post stay hotels for the cruise. I have been to Seattle before, but DH and DS have not. We are staying 2 days before and after. We have to see the Flight Museum, left a whole day for that. DH is a history military and airplane attict. Haven't decided on which excursions to take yet. Still have to save for those. Nancy

Welcome to CTT. WOW, 9 months away and we already have a nice group growing for our cruise. Thanks brunolvr!
Now if I could only figure out :witchcraft: how to get my good friends (BAOkie & Cruisin 'nana) from last year to switch and go on this cruise. How can you pass up on sailing with this group?
So do you live in Oklahoma? I grew up in Norman but I have been lost in TN for 20 years now. Maybe I will find my way home someday.
BAOkie still lives in Oklahoma.
Jeff

| Yeah a long time to wait but already busy planning! We live in McAlester, OK. Just wondering, has anyone figured out what they will be doing in each port? We have already booked with Harv & Marv in Juneau!
