So we had to change to Oct 11, I am so bumbed,,I wanted to meet you all. This is the funiest group of cruisers I have ever talked to. Now I don't get to meet Shore guy. I am so sad.
Sorry to hear you won't be sailing with us. Perhaps another time. Have fun on the 11th

I hope so, thanks so much for caring

Shout out to S.C.
Shoreguy, I was just shocked with some news. I heard from the cruise coordinator of the the Majesty that NCL no longer has a Captain's party. I figured with all your cruises you must be GOLD latitude or more, have you heard or experienced this.

There may be some confustion here. The traditional Captains Party on formal night has been long gone for a long time with no set seating times. The Captain still shows up for pictures on formal optional night. There is still a VIP party for Penthouse, Gold. Platinum, and VIP passengers.Last edited on Thu May 1st, 2008 03:07 am by shoreguy

We had dinner with the captain on the Pearl's first crossing thru the Panama, but it was with just two other couples and us who were all Courtyard guests. I suppose this is not the same as the Captain's Party you are refering too.

I am afraid I will never get to experience that ultimate pleasure, the courtyard villa is only a dream to me. It must have been a wonderful experience to be there. What was the best part of that cruise for you.

For me it was the thrill of my first time cruising from Miami to LA thru a MAN MADE CANAL that I had only learned about in school or read about in articles. To watch the gates open and raise and lower huge ships was really cool. There are two lanes with ships going thru side by side. We were waving to the crew of a Chinese freighter next to us. They would rise, then we would rise and we waved as we passed each other. Only thing to be aware of is "railing hoggers" who won't allow you to watch the gates working from the railing. They acted like they owned that space, two guys almost got into a fist fight over it. I used tact and asked the man if he would take some shots with my camera, then he said come on up cause I wasn't acting beligerant.
The ship and the crew make the cruise reguardles of which accomodations you have. The Courtyard is nice and the crew treated us with VIP status. It is nice, but we are just a common middle class couple with the kids out on there own and we can finally afford something that nice. The upsells help alot too.

Wanted to share with my friends, called my ncl, reservationist, to ask about changing rooms. Turns out the price of the cruise has gone down, so I took advanage and moved up 5 catagories and with the change in price and a one cat. upgrade, I went from 108 sq ft to 145, yippee. The Sept 20th cruise on the majesty gets better and better.
Take care

| OK I need you guys to all be thinking happy thoughts for me, my husband may be changing jobs, he has interviewed for a job within the City we live in. THis will be great for us, better job, benefits, and here is the surprise to it all. If he gets the job, I can move back to Oct 4, hopefully there will still be a handicapped room for my mom, but, if not maybe I can work something else with her. Need your good wishes. Thanks Mary

Hey shoreguy, things might work out and I might get the chance to meet you yet. I just hate playing the waiting game. It will also mean a quick change to the Majesty cruise on Sept 20th, I would have to change that too. Things will work out. I just hope to find out before July 6th, the 7th final payment is due on the Sept cruise.
Well it looks like you willl be leaving on the Jade soon, happy cruising.

This will be the first time I drive to the pier. We usually take a Limo. For one night its too much money. It looks easy to get to.
