Let me see if I can round up some folks that have cruised out of Galveston to help you. I've never done it myself or I'd be happy to give you some advice.

Sorry Katie. Wish I could be of some help, but the answer would be something I would be interested in too. Conquest out of Gal is one of the cruises we are looking at next. Hope you get your answer......and welcome to CTT.

Hello. I'm a Texan & have sailed out of Galveston twice. All depends if ship arrives back on time or if crew has to go thru immigration.
Arriving anywhere from 10:00-11:00 at the terminal is usually fine. If flying into Houston, it all depends on which airport. Hobby is closest to Galveston.

Conquest is a great ship. I have done it twice & still one of my favorite ships.

I live in Houston - sailed out of Galveston twice - two different ships - one was a nightmare the other easy.  Luckily it was Conquest that was easy!  We were in line by 11:30 and onboard by 12:30.

If flying in - give yourself plenty of time to get to port - Even tho I live in Houston I stayed in Galveston the night before - much easier than driving in morning of.

Hope you have fun!

Katie, I've only sailed out of Galveston once, but it was on the Conquest.   I would try to be there ready to board around 11:30 or so... that way you can have lunch on the ship and be ready for the sail-away fun.  If you board as early as you can, it's like an extra day of cruising.

I hope to cruise a lot more out of Galveston now that my middle son has moved down there.:P

I've cruised out of Galveston 3 times and only had one bad experience. I think all three times we've been there by 10:00 and was onboard within 1 hour give or take.

Have fun!
