Okay, maybe calling it the first official CTT cruise is a tad premature, but hey, we've got 3 of us so far!!!

When I called my PCC to book he said it looks like that price was entered wrong in the system. He said that my price is locked in so they wouldn't raise my price.....but it may not be up on the boards for long once they have noticed the price as being out of line with others.
I sent out a mass email so maybe we will have a few others here on the roll call as well. Too late......they have taken down the category completely.
Looks like the cheapest OV category now is over $800PP.....there are no more G categories listed.

No pressure intended! As much as I like shoreguy he never turned me on to a deal like this one!
Er-Ah knowing the CTT people maybe I should add "he's never turned me on AT ALL"

Good edit there, Monte!
Well we can thank our good fortune on a dream I had last night. I dreamed that a co-worker had booked a cruise to Bermuda and when I was telling her about it, she got to thinking that that might not be a bad idea for a family trip.
I was showing her how to pull up the cruises for next year so she could get an idea on pricing. I couldn't believe my eyes! I ended up booking right there at her desk!
Otherwise I would never have looked at the Dawn (I've been watching the Dream out of Boston since it's closer for us)!!!!
Woo-hoo for goofy dreams!

All right Cubechick (just what does that name reference anyway?)
You said on the other thread: "Oh, we've been to Bermuda 6 times, so we'll be able to help you out Monte. It's our favorite island!"
So what do you think are the must see things? And are there any independent excursion operators/tours that your recommend.
It's brainpickin' time only 14.5 months till sailing

My name isn't exciting...I'm a chick...and I work in a cube (although today I'm working less than I should!)
You know, we haven't done a lot of tours. We're very lazy and love to snorkel and have a few rum swizzles (not at the same time). And generally just roam around.
I'm going to have to look into this end of the island a bit myself as we normally dock in St. George, so I know that end of the island better.
http://www.bermuda4u.com/Attractions/bermuda_attractions_royal_naval_dockyard.html
Dockyard has the Maritime museum, the Dolphin swim: http://dolphinquest.org/destinations/bermuda/index.php?aID=1z1, the Snorkel park and many shops and a few pubs.
It's on the correct end of the island though to get to all of those famous pink beaches in Bermuda which are along South Shore Road. Horseshoe Bay being one of the most famous: http://www.bermuda4u.com/Attractions/bermuda_attractions_beaches_horseshoe_bay.html
The bus system is very good and the high speed ferry (which is also covered by the bus pass) runs to Hamilton and St. George (only 45 minutes away). St. George is very historic and lovely and worth a stop. Of course a lot of people rent scooters, but since I don't have a death wish, I don't! Hamilton of course is loaded with shops.
The Swizzle Inn is a must stop:
http://www.swizzleinn.com
There is a new one on Southshore road, and therefore closer to where we'll be. The best rum swizzles on the island! Can't wait to check out the new venu!
There are number of Catamaran/snorkeling excursions, a helmut dive, carriage rides (which we've enjoyed as you learn more about the island than you do on your own).
We did do a Jet-ski tour last year in St. George that we really enjoyed (you can't rent jet skis in Bermuda, you can only go on organized tours) and I'm sure there is one in Dockyard.
The Crystal Caves is a big attraction (http://caves.bm/) I've been saving that one for a rainy day, so I haven't hit it yet!
That's what I can think of for now!

We did the Snorkel park for the day we were in Bermuda last year on the DAWN. I thought there was quite a bit to see underwater, saw a nurse shark, eel, and lots of fish. This is within walking distance of the ship, and it's free to get into the beach...we had our own snorkel equipment.
When we cruised to Bermuda on the Majesty we got the bus passes, which are also good for the ferry, and explored the island on our own. There were street fairs in the different areas each evening. We also visited the local aquarium, which was nice on a hot day in August. Using the bus system we got off at a couple different beaches and just enjoyed the seclusion.
I would love to do the jet ski tour, I've also heard they are now offering segway tours as well.

Thank you!
Ya know, Bermuda isn't a place we're really considered in the past, but I've been web searching for a while this AM about it and I'm really getting excited already!

Oh and I meant to mention that HOPEFULLY they'll still have the Dine Ashore program (I always think of it as the Dinah Shore program...).
I say HOPEFULLY because we noticed that a lot less restaurants were participating this year. But if they have it, it's $5 pp for a $25 lunch voucher that can be used at select restaurants (and you can upgrade to a $50 dinner voucher for $10pp).
Pretty cheap way to experience some Bermudian cuisine. Of course our beloved Swizzle doesn't participate, but that doesn't stop us from going there!

We enjoyed the Dine ashore program as well, had an excellent lunch in a nice pub........and I can't for the life of me remember where it was or what it was called. I guess I'll have to get out my Bermuda folder when I have more time.
I did the Majesty with my daughter, so this will be the first time my husband (Kevin) will get the chance to spend any real time exploring the island.......he didn't get out of the Dockyard area last July.

Oh, so you like bad puns as much as I do!
Thanks for explaining the Dine Ashore program. I had heard of it but never really investigated beyond that.
Between you & Margaret it sounds like Barb & I are gonna get loads of good advice!!! I'm already thinking it'll be good to have 3 nights there to really look the area over!

I find it interesting that the ship will be anchored for the first night and then it looks like they will dock the next day.
Too bad the DAWN is too large to get through the cut, I enjoyed the town crier welcoming the ship into port there.
If only Bermuda had a casino, the evenings on the ship aren't quite the same without the casino. It is nice on the ship during the day, no problem getting a chair by the pool since everyone usually goes off to the beach. Bermuda has some beautiful beaches.

I agree Margaret, it won't be the same without a casino---IT'LL PROBABLY BE CHEAPER! Actually my wife loves casino gambling, but usually nickel, dime, quarter. I play a bit of blackjack but that's about it.

My husband and I used to play stricltly blackjack, but the last 2 DAWN cruise have been hooked on the Ulitmate Texas Holdem table, since they have the best odds in the house.....and we usually come out ahead. There really isn't much skill involved in the game, other than knowing when to bet.......but it is a friendly table, since you are only competing against the dealer.

With the price that we got this morning we couldn't pass this cruise up.......$199 for an OV cabin. I wish the price had stayed up longer so we could have gotten a few more people to join us.

I haven't checked with my husband either, but I'm sure I can find someone to go with me if he can't get the time off of work.
