Damn that's a nice dream.

If only.  I love it there.  Cost of property gets in the way though dammit.:big grin:

I've never priced anything out , but Pearl has. Big $$. She liked the idea of no basement, maybe a small furnace, no screens, great weather, shopping.
I watch the flights all the time, cause I'd make that trek even if just for a 3 day wknd. I love California.

I'm a bit more verbose than Monte, so it took me a little longwe to post a review, but here's the link to my Gem review in case anyone's interested!

Not verbose at all (to me that means unnecessarily wordy).  I thought you gave a great review.  I didn't realize this was your first trip on one of the larger NCL ships.  Just think, in a couple years they'll have the F3 ships out, which at 150k tons will make the Gem look like a dwarf by comparison!  I hope you guys will still enjoy all the cruises even those on the smaller ships.  I've a sneaking hunch you will.

Great job Aimee!!!

What are these basements you speak of?    Oh...and it was 73 and sunny today too!  Come on down....:tropics:

Um.  That's okay. :big grin:

BTW you must be psyched that you got in your Hawaiian cruise now...before the prices go through the roof with only one ship serving the market!

You bet your sweet bippie!!!  Plus we got in the 10 day cruise only in the islands, and it looks like those are history now.  And now we know where we want to go back to visit again.  Would love to spend 3 or 4 days in Lahaina and of course 3 or 4 on Oahu as well.

So you won't spank me?:sado1:  I was looking forward to it!

Aimee-

I've a really really important question that I could ask in an IM, but it's so urgent that others may want to see the answer as well.

I forgot to mention in my review that nearly every night the dessert menu in the main dining room included a soufflé.  Now a good soufflé is one of my main vices in life, but since mine was an NCLA cruise instead of an NCL, and there is still some discussion if the menus are the same between NCL & (A), I've gotta ask---Did the menu on your sailing normally include Soufflé?

Monte, I've consulted w/ DH and he agrees that we didn't see souffles on the menu (how did you get the accent ague on there anyway? :big grin:  I know how to do it in Word...since I have one on my first "e" but not in this format!).

The only "souffle" that I saw or ordered was a pineapple souffle, that, while delicious, was more sorbet than souffle.

I ran a spell check before I posted, and the spell check wanted to add it!  I was surprised also.

Hey, I was just looking at the docking schedule for Bermuda and see that we are currently scheduled to be docked all 3 days.  No tendering!  Woo-hoo!

Oh and I see another post on CC for our cruise in the roll calls...and someone that I just sailed w/ on the Gem has booked...we're picking up steam!

:big grin:

Did anyone else notice that we're under 200 days to go???

It seems like yesterday that we were 14 months out!

Steal it from the dark side.  That's what I did and for some reason it works.  Can't do more than one at a time though for some reason.

Hi mustymom.  I'm not sure if I'll be posting while on board or not but usually when I travel without our kids I find an internet cafe to email them.  So when the time comes, if there's anything you want to know let us know and I'll try to post.
