AWESOME link Denise!!  The Solstice is shaping up to be something totally new to cruising....HEY we are one year from sailing!!!!  WOOO HOOO!!:martini:  I wonder if I can email X and get a permanent seat at the Crush bar one hour prior to late seating dinner for martini's?

Speaking of late dining, is there any possibilty you and Dana would consider changing to early dining?

Denise,

We're fine with early dining.  If given a choice I'll always take the latest dining possible.  But we'd rather dine with all of you, and that's what will make it a nice

experience, so if the majority wish early, then early it is;)

Truthfully, that's why I'm having weight issues these days, because we eat

so late and then it's time to go to bed:shock::sleepy:

I hope they have a midnight buffet though, because if I eat early then I'll most

certainly have to eat again since my blood sugar drops quickly -- oh, wait,

on second thought I'll get my blood sugar pumped up with a few after-dinner

Appletinis.:lmao1:

BTW, your friends  look real nice.  Just tonight I saw their pics and noticed

you posted that way back in September.

this ship looks exquisite.  brand new huh?  dh and i have not been on celebrity since 1992.  we loved it, too.

i am tempted to drive the kids up to the in laws, lol.  but, i must admit this will be tough...i'd be pulling them out of school for a week.  so it does not look as promising as i'd like.   if there was a day or two off, where they wouldn't be counted absent, i think i wld absolutely take advantage of that and book it.  but at that time, they will just be coming off of 2 weeks (christmas/new years) vacation.  so pulling them out when they are "due back" wld not be great.

these prices look good to me though, so i am still going to mention it to dh.   but, i am not going to mention it yet, lol.  we just came back from a cruise.  we are going to disney in 3 weeks.  we have another cruise in july, and i am already booked for one in '09 too.   i know the school thing will bother him too though.  what i really need is for someone to come here so they can still go to school, but that is very unlikely.  in laws are the only contenders and they are out for that.   hmmmm...fly em down and bring them to my mom's ?(in fla) but, that does not get around the school issue...but i am thinking...see...you shldn't have started this with me LOL!

I agree with you about the school issue. I always have a problem with people taking their kids out of school for a family vacation.  It's not like there's plenty of time of time for a cruise on their already scheduled vacations/holidays! So, I understand completely.
So, you say it's out for the in-laws to come to your house to sit for the kids?

Thanks, Dana.  I'll get in touch with Rich & see if he can get us switched to the early seating.  I'll need your Booking number, so he can cross-reference us together. I'll get Mike's when he gets back from his cruise.

PM me!

yeah, i would pretty much guarantee it.  they live several hours away, and the weather by them is not great that this time of year.  they have done it for us before in years past.  but they are older now, and it is much harder, and a much bigger imposition.  we'll see.

Sounds like I need to get on this ship too.  Too bad January won't work for us (two trips in November, gotta work once in a while), unless I hit Powerball between now and then...sigh, freakin' sigh.

I would if I wasn't taking 2 1/2 weeks off in November.  Day job cuts into my travel.

Hi all

My DH & I are booked on this cruise too!!! Everytime I go in and look at the photos I want to get on board immediately and never get off.......

My Dad has booked a cabin as well as a friend we went to school with many moons ago. So we are a small group of 4 with 3 cabins.

Hey Ann..Glad you finally found us here...I am/was Solticecruzer on CC..they dont' like me much there so my name changes often!:lmao1:   In fact they don't like most of us here at CTT.....welcome to CTT..look around, we are small but are mostly all veteran cruisers like yourself so you won't find a lot of threads with people asking questions and then 15 people give the same answer over and over like on the Dark Side (CC) but when a newbie or anyone else asks it will be promply answered and then we will hi-jack the thread and no telling where it will go!:partytime:  :roflmao:

Mike is correct!!!!!!!  Hi, Ann----I am thrilled that you booked! It should be a blast!!!

And welcome to CTT!  We're a small cruise board, but very laid back and very friendly. We have really cool smilies here and the Mods are not Big Brother-ish, like over on CC.

Like Mike said, we have more experienced cruisers here at CTT, so we have very little of the tiresome "how much to tip" and "can I wear jeans in the dining room" questions.
We do need help building up our ports-of-call forum, as well as cruise/tour guide reviews.
We have LOTS of NCL cruisers here and we need to build up some of the other lines more.
Feel free to post wherever you want to!

We also have a lot of off-topic threads and forums........we have a Good Morning thread, a Nightcap thread, threads about books and trivia. Look around and welcome!.

Thanks to all of you for your kind welcome.

As I am an ADDICTED cruiser I know I will lurk here often.

Like Catnip I used by CC handle here too - less confusion that way.

Catnip looking at your Mexican cruise May 4th but too far out right now and undecided on what to do in 2009 beyond Solstice. May just do a Homeport thing which to us means Alaska...Might try to pick up a steal on a 14 night B2B Vancouver to Anchorage (Whittier or Seward). It sure is nice to cruise without any airline hassle.

That is why I want to try a World Cruise. I have told my DH that as soon as he retires at 65 we are off on my Dream Cruise around the world but forget the "Around the World in 80 days" I want my full 100+ days....
