Afternoon Everyone,
Quick update following my introduction to the forum a few days back. We just got home from our latest trip to our travel agent and we're booked!!!! We are taking a Carnival Freedom back to back cruise....July 26th, 2009 for 6 days out of Fort Lauderdale followed by the 8 day....Eastern and Western Caribbean itineraries. This will be our first cruise in 10 years and we think we made a great decision for our 15th wedding anniversary celebration. Now the painful countdown will begins. I need a countdown tracker
Two questions for anyone who's been on the Freedom.....which dining room is best to request on our booking sheet ?
Has anyone else booked this far in advanced and gotten cool promotion offers from Carnival over the course of the year? Our cruise agent, very helpful and knowledgeable....great experience so far, told us that anything is possible....sometimes they come across her desk, upgrades, promo offers with a 24 hour window....fingers crossed
Thanks so much for your advice up till now....keep it coming.
Cheers,
Kelly

| We booked for our Med cruise the day it opened at about 18 months out. I wanted that 9A wrap (there are only two on the ship that are triples-many people don't know about them and think all the 9A's are doubles) anyhow, our rate has changed several times, including a big drop for a resident rate (about a 1000.00 total for the three of us) one thing to be aware of though is when you re-price the non comms and fees all are re priced too. We were in the group that were getting our fuel surcharge added back but when I re priced to the resident rate not only did I have to pay the fuel surcharge but the current highest one which was a big chunk o change but still we made out because of the resident rate. Just be prepared they will charge you whatever the current fees are unless you are upgrading your cabin catagory.
