My first cruise was the Paradise (2003) and I went on the Legend (2007). I am going on the Sensation in October for a quick getaway from work. Any suggestions on how to make the most of a cruise for the first time on the Sensation (even though it is short)? Is Atlantis worth it and if so what activities should we reserve?:help:

The Sensation was our first ship, the Legend just a few years ago. I think the Sensation is a great ship! Depending on your tastes, likes and dislikes, you would probably enjoy it.

Can't help with Atlantis. Although we've been to the Bahamas several times, we never made it over there. Funny, I was just thinking about it yesterday.

I would not try to compare a large 7 day itinerary ship to a small ship that only does 3 & 4 day cruises.  With that being said I mean that smaller ships does not offer as much that a larger one can offer.

I have not been on the Legend but I have been on the Sensation.  While it is an older ship we had a nice time.  I would never want to be on her for more than 3 or 4 days.  That would be too much.  But she was perfect for the short time we had to get away.

Remember the ship is puprle, which never bothered us.  There are some lighting that is really funny.  I thought it was kind of gross but it did not make me have a bad time.

We truly enjoyed the food, the meet the Captain partyand the disco.

Thanks for the information. I'll make sure to spend most of the time out on Nassau.

I've not been on the other two ships, but the Sensation was my first cruise, and a very nice ship!  Older, but the whole thing has been refurbished since I was on her, so I'm sure you'll enjoy it!  Hopefully the purple will be gone! They have redone the cabins with the new bedding, put in a new waterpark on the Lido deck, and generally overhauled her.  I would have to say, that of my 3 cruises (The other two were bigger and newer) that we had the best service of all of them!  Not that that necessarily means anything now, of course, but I'm sure you'll have a great time!

Sorry, can't help with Nassau-am going there for the first time myself this fall on the Destiny!

We were just on her in May and they have not done away with the purple or put in the new water park.  Have they refurbed since the middle of May?

In Nassau you have other choices besides Atlantis.  You could go to the Hilton, Wyndham or the Breezes.  Seems like there's one more but I can not think of the name.

Just go in with an open mind knowing that this ship came before the Mega-Liners. Our first cruise was a 7 day on Celebration (which was smaller than Sensation.) Since then we have cruised Legend, (our favorite) Victory, & Valor. While we enjoy the Mege-Liners, we kind of miss the intimacy of Celebration.
