:tropics:Hello Everyone,  So here's my story...my hubby and I live in Burlington, Ontario, Canada :flag3:and for our 15th anniversary next summer we are hoping to do something special...a 14 day cruise in the Caribbean...that is what we did for our honeymoon;)  We've been told that the ship we went on for our honeymoon in 1994 is now considered rather ancient so we are looking at the Carnival Freedom with a back to back itinerary (6 day East followed by 8 day West).

For the past 10 years we have been strictly all inclusives in the Caribbean every summer for our vacation (primarily Cuba, Dominican Republic and Mexico) with the expansive pools and easily bribeable staff for prime pool space:kiss:

The cruise will set us back a little over $1000 more than the all inclusive and we are just desperately trying to decide if the cruise ship will be our game plan next year or another all inclusive somewhere a bit more high end like Aruba or St. Lucia. ugh...decisions.  The Freedom seems to have some great reviews along with some not so great...what to do.

Anyone out there who has sailed her recently and can give us some guidance on our decision.  One of the attractive features is the Serenity adults only area in the aft section....is it as nice as it looks?  Free of charge to find peace and quiet up there?  After 15 years we are very out of the loop with regards to cruises.

Thank you in advance ten fold for any advice or suggestions regarding the Carnival Freedom....including any hotel advice for staying in Ft. Lauderdale the night before.

Cheers from Ontario:martini:

Kelly (lovlos)

Ann, have a great time! I would love to do a Med cruise someday. If you put your photos online at a site like Webshots, I would love to see them too! You can put a link in our photo section.

Update:  We have an appointment with our travel agent tomorrow afternoon after work to discuss our options regarding cabin assignment, flight, etc. and hopefully clear up some of our issues with returning to cruising from the all inclusive vacations.  I know that in the scheme of things....I am incredibly lucky to be "worrying" about something as trivial as a vacation next year when not everyone has the ability to do so.  I feel very fortunate to have this problem....sometimes I forget just how much.

Will keep you in the loop but still welcome any advice, suggestions and reviews from others.  Keep them coming.

:martini:Cheers,

Kelly
