some of you may know this already, but for those who do not:

CCL changed its funpass requirements to include accepting the cruise contract (no biggie there) and setting up your S&S account in advance (may be a headache here).

for those of you who have 2 cabins and want to have the same credit card used for both accounts, you are supposed to be able to add booking numbers in the payment screen of the first cabin to include pax in a second cabin.

this sometimes works, and sometimes does not.

ccl has explained that there are some incompatibility issues with browsers which may prevent you from completing this and advancing you to the next screen so you can finish up the process.

when this occurs, you have one of two options:  (i) you can removed the added booking people and continue.  in the next booking, you will have to choose cash and then change it at the desk on embarkation; or

(ii) you can call them (during normal business hours) and have them include the second ressie for you.

you can add up to two booking numbers on line (if it works for you).

a word of caution, you cannot use the same credit card SEPARATELY (in other words, in the second ressie, if you complete the first without including those pax) because the system will not allow it.  instead, it will designate that the person who first registered the card is the "acct owner" and only they will be allowed to use the card again.

Sounds like CCL still has a little work to do.

Thanks Trish! That's good to know. Wish I had a reason to try it out.

You can say that again, Deb. Even if it needs some work, would love to have an excuse to try it out.

just got my docs for my july 20th cruise.

the packaging is completely different from the old docs (i last cruised in december).

the luggage tags that are included (3 per pax) are the ahesive type (similar to what the airlines and disney use).

they are preprinted with your name and cabin number, so you don't even need to fill them out anymore.

hoo haaa!:big grin:

I saved all of mine and someday Steph is going to put them in a scrapbook for me!! :big grin::angeldevil1::devil:

Will I still get docs in the mail if I have e-docs?

I completed the fun pass the other day and was able to make changes to the passport/section since I accidentially washed mine and DW's. It only took a week for new ones but the numbers and expiration dates are now different.

i have read that if you select and print edocs you will not get paper docs.  i can't verify this from personal knowledge because i did not do that.

i did view them, but only recently, and there was a message that they were being mailed (probably because at the time i viewed them date for paper processing had already passed).

you said you have the edocs already.  if you mean you have selected that option and printed them, then according to other threads, your booking won't be submitted to generate paper.

Jim, my experience with choosing e-docs was that we didn't receive paper docs. I kinda miss them. I suppose though that you can still do the doc dance. I did! :big grin:

That's correct, if you choose e-docs, there are no paper docs.

And Jim, you can schedule the doc dance whenever it's convenient for you!:breakdancer:

another update from me:

it appears that ccl does not want to give out upgrades for free any longer (at least to pax who have paid for a cabin assignment, like we did) if they can possibly avoid it.  this must be the doings of gerry cahill.

anyway, a large group who was on my miracle sailing has cancelled (20 cabins:shock:).  ccl is now calling certain pax to see if they can entice them to upgrade to the pricier 8H cabins (balcony staterooms on panorama) at a discounted rate.   i got the call last night. if i agreed it's a win win for them.  they get to release and put back up for sale, my less expensive cabins, which will give them a much better chance of unloading them (as opposed to trying to unload 8Hs) so close to sailing.

initially, they wanted to charge a total of 500 for 2 cabins, because i had 2 relatively inexpensive (not cheap, by any means, but far less expensive than the price of an 8H) 7As (obstructed balconies) on upper deck.

i told them i currently had 3 cruises booked with them, and i didn't want to pay that.  he said he wld see what they cld do.  they came back with $340 total (for two cabins), and we did it, ultimately deciding that 300 bucks for 8 days with no obstruction may be worth it.

wld i have gotten it for free eventually if i had refused?  who knows.  maybe.  but, i didn't really care. i was more concerned about whether i shld do it at all.  and, i am not sure we shld have done it, but it's too late now.  i am now below lido, and i usually book between 2 pax decks (no public spaces above or below).  but the close proximity to lido, with 4 sea days, may prove to be quite advantageous.

anyway, i told the guy (this was not my reg guy who called to do this) that my docs had already been generated and rec'd by me, and that i didn't want to print edocs and have to deal with making my own luggage tags (which i heard can be a real PITA).

i asked him if he wld arrange for new paper docs to be sent, and he said he cld.  so, i am now hoping that i will in fact get them.  we'll see, and i'll let you know.

This sounds like a good deal to me.  Enjoy the cruise and be sure to report back.  I will be on the Miracle on 8-13-08.  We are in a Cat. 11 on the Empress Deck (Deck 6).
