It really is. Too bad you can't do both on the same cruise, but it works well for a lot of people.
i was thinking about that too...thinking it wld be great to do traditional dining some nights, and open seating others. but, i cld see how that cld become very difficult for the food service crew.
what will they do if nearly everyone chooses to try the option leaving the other dining room empty, save for a couple of tables? eek
Hey sweetie, the Legend only has one dining room, plus the supper club. So I am still wondering how they will pull this off. Maybe the upper level anytime, lower traditional.

That's what I was wondering...seems the only way to make it work is to do either one or the other...not both! Maybe they'll alternate nights...sounds like a nightmare for the food service people.

Especially if they alternate, what a friggin mess that would be. Nah they couldn't, not with assigned tables. Who knows?

SG once had some very good insight into why anytime dining works much better on purpose-built vessels than when it's imposed after-the-fact. Maybe he'll chime in here, but I think it very much had to do with kitchen operations.

Yep, something else to be considered. Only on kitchen on Spirit class as well. Well, there's the kitchen up on lido, but I don't think it is equipped the same as the dining room kitchen. Dunno.

I imagine that knowing two weeks in advance how many cruisers will choose this option, they can set aside that many tables in an area and not be restricted by any walls or floors.
The bottleneck will occur when they ALL show up at 7 to dine. Maybe the'll have to be strict about late traditional diners, and then use those tables.
I'm very interested in reading all about it once those first cruisers return.
I'm half tempted to try it sometime, and my other half likes the idea of just walking in at a designated time and everything's ready. Dinnertime's always the same as home as well.

Hasn't been bad here...yet. E me when you're gonna be here, try to hook up and have a coupla beers or something. Have annual passes to Disney, so if you're gonna be there it's no problem. It's about 20 minutes from my shop. Be a good time of year to hit the water parks too. Well, beer:30 here peeps.

Thanks for the tip, good point~!~!
yes. thanks.
Not sure what to think about this, either. I really don't like being tied to a certain time to eat-have sometimes not really felt hungry, or felt rushed to be there on time. BUT-I love having the same staff, getting to know them! It seems more personal! Will have to see what others think of this.
