Hi,

Posted this question on the ds too, but I feel I will get better answers from the folks on this board.

We are looking to go on Carnival for the first time in a bunch of years due to the Western Caribbean itinerary that looks unbeatable to us. So we are looking at the Legend for next year. We want an aft balcony cabin and are looking at 7347 on Verandah Deck and 6260 on Empress. We didn't want to be higher as that looks like it is under the pool. Can anyone tell me if there is a difference in either of those cabins, or is there a better one we should be looking at? Also, since we want aft, the docking side is not as important, but out of curiosity, which side does the Legend usually dock on that itinerary?

Thanks for the help -

Carey

Can't help you with the cabin question but as far as docking...We were starboard side docked at Tampa and Cozumel.  We were anchored Starboard side to shore at GC.  At Belize it didn't matter since you are anchored so far out.

We loved the Legend...Have a great cruise.

I had an aft on the Liberty last October. We were on the highest deck and heard no noise. But as the decks get higher they also step in in width. it seems that they take the space from the center cabins. Our hallway in (between the closets and bathroom) seemed a bit mor narrow than what I was used to. Other thasn that it was a fantastic cabin.

So I would say if you stuck lower you should be fine.

I loved the aft balcony, I have one booked for next Octber.

Thanks for the responses! I googled and found some pictures. The ship and the cabins look beautiful, so I think we will be happy with either. The itinerary is what has us so gung ho, so anything else is icing on the cake!

Which itin is it?
Roatan, Belize, Cozumel & Grand Caymen?

I did that itin exept we went to Costa Maya instead of Cozumel.

We are booked on the Legend for that itin in October of 09!

That would be it - we've been trying to get back to Roatan and Belize on the same cruise, but Costa Maya keeps getting in the way! Never thought to look at Carnival until the other day and bingo, there it was with Grand Cayman and Cozumel thrown in too... we're looking at April or May, 2009. Just need to pick which cabin, now we're considering deck 4 instead, decisions, decisions, oh the pressure!!!

Might want to watch this itin closely.  I'm starting to hear rumors about Costa Maya being up and active early next year.  We did this itin (Belize/Costa Maya) in 07 before hurricane Dean.  Just a FYI.  I for ONE hope Roatan stays since I've never been there.

Costa Maya is going to be ready to accept ships starting this July.

Looking at Carnival's itineraries, it looks like the Legend is only making a couple of stops there - one in November 2008 & one in January 2009.

Well we booked the Legend for the April 26th cruise. Then I discovered (and posted here on another thread) that it was off the web site. Sure enough some college alumni society had booked the whole cruise. We were able to move to the 12th - 6 of us 3 cabins, we were able to get 2 of the 3 same cabins, (how lucky was that).  2 of the group has never cruised before and they still don't understand how cruise lines can charter cruises after taking bookings. NOW I get to tell them and the others that we may not get Roatan which we all want, but Costa Maya instead. They have already come up with inventive ideas as to what should happen to the alumni on board "our" original cruise, I can't wait to hear their ideas about the cruise line if this gets changed as well!

The exciting world of cruising, sigh........

I hope you enjoy the Legend! We were in 8231 about 4 years ago. That was the cruise where my camera was damaged so I don't have a single picture. :(
